About the Author

No Experience Required is the fifty-first book written by Caleb Pirtle III, of Lindale, Texas. He spent almost a year interviewing more than sixty former members of the 12th man team, even tracking two of them down in Iraq and Saudi Arabia. Theirs is a story that has indeed ne'er been told. Theirs is a story that could have only taken place at Texas A&M. Pirtle, who has won numerous awards for his writings, said, 'The book chronicling the exploits, the triumphs, the tragedies, the expectation, the disappointments, and the successes of the 12th man unit represents the most satisfying book I have ever written. This is a great story about the 12th Man Kick Off Team at Texas A&M University. The book reveals the secrets behind coach Jackie Sherrill's idea of putting walk-on players on the field to play against some of college football greatest.
