Great book with complete lesson plans, May 21, 2009
This review is from: The No-Fault Classroom: Tools to Resolve Conflict & Foster Relationship Intelligence (Paperback)
I was debating between this book and The Compassionate Classroom, I'm so glad I got this one. It is perfect, with a short 10 page intro, an 18 page section for teacher prep, and then it jumps right into 155 pages of complete lesson plans. Lesson plans include time, objective, materials, type of activity, vocabulary and procedures. The appendices are thorough and don't go too close to the spine of the book for ease of copying.
If you want more information on the NVC philosophy, of course you can read Nonviolent Communication: a language of life. But if you want to have some very useful lessons, activities and teaching tools, this text is a must.
I am using these activities in a middle school setting, but I think they are great for any age. I am even planning to do some of the activities with my adult family members.
