I shutter each and every time one of my fave films is shown on my 46" screen .. MINUS the full screen aspect. Thus .. the same with "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" .. HUGE black space at top and bottom of film footage. Tried using my Samsung remote to correct this annoying issue .. no can do !! Drats !! Aside from watching it on Comcast (in full screen mode) .. any suggestions with this blu-ray DVD I currently purchased. Thanks ..have a pleasant day. (Helen in Boston)

I have the same issue. my Samsung TV is set on 16:9 aspect ration, I just bought this DVD as it says the aspect ratio 16:9 on the cover. But when I played it I am disappointed to see the frames dont cover the entire screen. I see a huge black section at the top and at the bottom. Why?

That is called anamorphic widescreen, "Fullscreen" is a 4:3 aspect ratio... This version of Widescreen is the true theatrical release aspect ratio, so you see everything you were meant to see...
