One of the best Boston bands of the 90's,
By Jonathan Henry (Boston, MA USA) - See all my reviews

I love the Boston punk scene, and one of the better acts out of there in the last decade has been the Ducky Boys. Breaking the standard punk stereotype, these guys are actually really talented, and as others have commented, the lyrics actually mean something which is great. I wish Amazon.com carried their other full-length release, "Dark Days", since I think it's even better than this one, but if you can't find it, than by all means get this, it rocks! To my extreme dismay, the Ducky Boys (as far as I know) have broken up, so get their music while you still can. They get together to play a show from time to time, but beyond that they're done. Thankyou Mark Lind and the Ducky Boys for all you've done for up-and-coming Boston punk acts; you are missed.

Fine American Streetrock, fella.,

The Ducky Boys come straight from the steets of Charlestown, MA and this CD has Boston pride written all over it. It's straight ahead "streetrock" in the vein of the Bruisers, the Dropkicks and the Boils. Mark Lind can write a hell of a good song. "Dark Days", their second CD improves on this release. It's more rock-n-roll and it is an amazing release. It sounds like Lind locked himself in a room with old Springsteen albums and mixed them with old Blitz albums and out comes the "Dark Days" album. It's a wicked pisser, as all you Bostonites might say. Also, check out the Ducky Boys/Shods split 7" which includes one of the Ducky's finest songs: "Boston, USA"...it made me wish I was from there! Available on TKO/Flat records. Check the TKO website for more details. The Ducky Boys are simply one of the best American streetrock bands out there today.

Friend of Mark Lind/Totally Biased Review,

I love this CD. Their lyrics are what makes this baby rock. I mean, how hard is it to scream and thrash the guitar? Not very, and tons of sucky punk bands have proven that. The Ducky Boys are different, because not only do they rock, but they also sing thoughtful, emotional lyrics that rival the snotty introspections of Jewel and Fiona Apple as REAL DEAL poetry. Buy this cd and mail the lyrics to anyone who thinks all punks are violent losers.
