From the Inside Flap

Power Unrestrained

For four years Barack Obama has waged an unparalleled attack—largely undocumented by the mainstream media—on religious liberty in the United States. Never before has an administration been more convinced that there is no higher power than itself: one nation under Obama. In this stunning new book, veteran conservative lawyer, activist, and commentator Phyllis Schlafly and reporter George Neumayr reveal the greatest assault on American liberty in our time—the Obama administration’s war on religious freedom.

In No Higher Power you’ll learn:

  • Why a second Obama term could spell the end of Catholic hospitals and the court-martialing of Christian military chaplains
  • How the Obama administration is stripping conscience protections for pro-life doctors and nurses—forcing them to either assist in abortions or quit medicine
  • How the Obama administration sought to ban Bibles from military hospitals and prohibit invocations of Jesus Christ at military funerals
  • Why even Justice Elena Kagan—an Obama appointee to the Supreme Court—was shocked by the Obama administration’s dictating employment policy at a Lutheran church
  • How Obama is defying federal law in the Defense of Marriage Act
  • How liberal Christians like Jim Wallis have acted as useful idiots for Obama’s war on Christianity—and how the Catholic Left in Chicago actually helped pay for Obama’s training as a disciple of the radical Saul Alinsky
  • Why the Obama administration coddles Islam while actively discriminating against Christians and Jews
  • And much more In

In No Higher Power, Schlafly and Neumayr expose the Obama administration’s brazen disregard for the First Amendment, its relentless purging of religion from our public life, and the even more chilling persecution of religion set to come.

From the Back Cover

Praise for No Higher Power

“When Phyllis Schlafly talks, conservatives should listen—and when she sounds a warning, we should be ready to act. In her terrific new book, Higher Power, she and George Neumayr have compiled a truly frightening indictment of the Obama administration’s contempt or the First Amendment and our most fundamental freedoms. If you care about our country and its future, you must read this book.”
Mark Levin

“Freedom of conscience is the foundation of all our freedoms. Phyllis Schlafly’s and George Neumayr’s riveting account of Obama’s war on religious liberty is essential reading for all Americans who care about their country.”
David Horowitz

“Phyllis Schlafly and George Neumayr have nailed it—in its tyrannical arrogance, the Obama administration behaves as though there is no higher power than itself. It will allow neither the Constitution nor religious liberty to interfere with its agenda. In a second term, it will be emboldened to do even more. If you want to know just how threatened our religious liberties really are, please read No Higher Power.”
David Limbaugh

Having read almost all of the books written about President Barack Obama,I was reluctant to read yet another one. But, I am grateful to Phyllis Schlafly and George Neumayr for this one because it is the only one that attempts to understand the origins of Obama's hostility to Christianity. While previous books attempt to blame the radical rantings of Rev. Wright for the President's liberationist agenda, the reality is far different. Barack Obama was radicalized well before he set foot in Rev. Wright's church. His animosity toward Christianity in general and the Catholic Church in particular is well documented in this wonderful book. Naming names of useful idiots like leftist Christians like Jim Wallis and a number of "progressive" Catholics--many of them teaching on Catholic college campuses--who share Obama's animosity to Catholic teachings on same sex marriage and reproductive rights, the authors have written a courageous book that will help inform all who read it. They have convinced me that a second Obama term will be the end of Catholic hospitals when they defy Obama's requirement to dispense abortifacients and perform sterilizations. The authors have convinced me that a second Obama term will result in the court martialing of military chaplains when they refuse a mandate to perform same sex marriage ceremonies. Military chaplains have already been pressured to do this. The threat is real--President Obama has already assaulted the religious freedom of Catholic institutions through the contraception mandate in the Affordable Care Act. This book describes the origins of this decision--and the ominous outcome...It is a frightening book--but one that I am grateful for.

Phyllis Schlafly and George Neumayr have been two of President Obama's most trenchant critics, and they don't disappoint in this new book. As someone who has followed Obama's assault on religious liberty closely, I was still shocked at the extent of the damage his administration has done. As the authors write, "Though stealth and sophistry, [Obama] is gradually transforming America into a secularist and socialist dystopia along modern Western European lines."

Obama's coercive secularism has been evident in relatively high-profile acts like his Department of Health and Human Services' mandate that most religious groups be required to pay for their employees' birth control. But, as the authors document, there are plenty of lesser known infringements of religious freedom and the rule of law, such as the administration's use of taxpayer funds to impose its abortion agenda on Kenya and spend millions to implement abortion on demand in the new Kenyan constitution in clear violation of the law.

The authors also reveal for the first time how the Catholic archdiocese of Chicago contributed to a young Barack Obama's training as a community organizer. They publish documents exposing how the church gave money to Obama to attend community organizing training with the radical Industrial Areas Foundation.

This book is a must-read for anyone who wants to understand Obama's cynical exploitation of religious belief, and for anyone who values their ability to practice their faith free of government interference.

During his 2008 campaign, President Obama said he was a Christian. That's a clever strategy during an election year because most Americans want their President to have godly values. I wanted to believe our new President. But soon after his election, the uneasiness began. At first it was a few statements and some disturbing policy decisions. But then he became bold in his antagonistic attitude toward Christians. He cancelled White House traditions that honored prayer. He misquoted our national motto, "In God We Trust." The Bible was banned from an Army hospital. He ignored God in his Thanksgiving address. He eliminated funding for abstinence education in our schools. He supported several pro-abortion initiatives. He has mocked and undermined priests, pastors and military chaplains. Obama has gone out of his way to appoint outspoken atheists as czars, judges and members of his cabinet. Spread out over four years, you may not have noticed Obama's step-by-step campaign to secularize America. Thankfully, Phyllis Schlafly and George Neumayr did notice. And it's all documented in the wonderfully current book "No Higher Power." You will be stunned by Chapter Three which provides a shocking index of dozens of decisions made by the Obama Administration that clearly prove this President has an agenda to destroy our religious freedom. Fortunately, this book has come out in time to prevent President Obama from claiming he is a Christian during the 2012 election campaign. The American people will not be fooled again.

Phyllis Schlafly and George Neumayr deliver a riveting account on our country's war on religious liberty, a shocking and scary indictment of the Obama's administration's contemp, disregard for the First Amendment, and much more. The authors present the issue of purging of religion from our public lives, how threatened our religious liberties are, and why there will be an end to Catholic hospitals. In addition, information is provided on why Bibles will no longer be allowed in military hospitals, and the reality of Christians and Jews being discriminated against. "NO HIGHER POWER" will make you ponder about the issues presented, long after this book is closed. Most important, we close the book with a question millions ask in silence, 'will there be more chilling persecution to come?' Interesting, educational for all Americans, and thought-provoking throughout. Highly-Recommended!
