5.0 out of 5 stars Doomtree: Team the Best Team in Hip Hop November 27, 2011
By JWall
Format:MP3 Music
The five emcees of Doomtree carry so much lyrical variety in content and style that verse-to-verse and track-to-track, songs bend and twist in unexpected and fulfilling directions. The beats are as "mainstream" as the group has ever sounded; main production duty was split between Lazerbeak, Cecil Otter, and P.O.S. with touches of Paper Tiger. That said, the beats and raps never feel contrived--they're the perfect balance of swagger and substance. "No Kings" is your most accessible entry point one of the most creative and inspired collections of artistic voices in modern music, and it's a complete and wholly satisfying listening experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars I don't even like rap! December 9, 2011
Format:MP3 Music|Amazon Verified Purchase
I read about this album on a punk blog, the closest I ever come to listening to rap or hip-hop is Transplants. I gave "The Grand Experiment" a listen on youtube and that was all I needed. I bought this album immediately and started playing it on repeat. You don't need to be a hip-hop fan to love this, you just need to love catchy, inventive beats and incredible lyrics. I think I found a new workout mix.

5.0 out of 5 stars it just keeps getting better November 24, 2011
By blizzil
Format:MP3 Music
having lived by all of these guys and having gone to their shows for years, i can honestly tell you they are growing into a super group. they are most comparable to wu-tang in that they have incredibly albums in their solo careers but all together there is no stopping them. they all have such contrasting styles but somehow it all blends seamless together. MPLS has a huge music following and it's only going to continue to grow. Northside baby

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing
Phenomenal group of artists by themselves, and it only gets better when they are all working together. Doomtree is real, genuine, and making a name for themselves.

I have been on a musical binge lately but most of what I have downloaded turned out to be better in 30 second clips. "No Kings" was not like that at all. Read more

Just try it. I promise you'll like the catch. Once hooked, that's it. I agree with putting it on repeat. I have no idea who they are but I like it. Infectious.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ridiculous
Well worth giving it a listen or 50 listens. Great collaboration. No one stands out more than the others. Lazerbeak did some sick beats. What else do you need?
