Review
No Limits by Sara Morgan is a wonderful book and a must have for everyone with a passion in life. Ms Morgan took bad economic times and made them work for her. She is now self employed in an economy that makes finding standard employment hard to find. Ms Morgan took a chance on herself and turned her home into her work place. In this book she shows you the benefits and the drawbacks of doing as she did. It s important to take what you know and run with it. Work may be slim at first but it will pick up. Ms Morgan talks about her own life and she interviews others who are self made successes and shares their stories and strategies for success. This isn t only a book about how to start your own business and tips on how to do it although it does that just beautifully it is also a book that shows why so many of us are getting into this type of work. In every choice there is an element of risk and no one denies that. But ban you imagine working in your PJ s or wrapped up in a blanket? When your self employed those are a few options. Setting your own hours so that you work when you are your most productive.. If you are sick don t work heal and go back when your well again. This is the perfect book for people now. This can at least get them thinking about life in a different light. Maybe your life has changed and you need to work differently. What ever the case I think No Limits by Sara Morgan is the way to start your journey. --Best Sellers World
This motivational informative book is filled with first-hand advice from author Sara Morgan. The first chapter is dedicated to telling her story by way of six challenges that many can relate to (college, first job, motherhood, wrong job fit, short term/part time contracting work, and jobless). But that is only the beginning. After the birth of three children and the divorce of two husbands, Morgan decided to share her experiences in written format about her challenges in corporate America. Her hope is that others can find inspiration and motivation in their search to find fulfillment in self-employment. No Limits: How I Escaped the Clutches of Corporate America to Live the Self-Employed Life of My Dreams was written for the person who dreams of being an entrepreneur but is afraid to venture out without a lifeline into the world of self-employment. How many of us have dreamed of being our own boss, making our own decisions, making our own hours. As enticing as this appears, it is hard work with lots of opportunity for failure. But Morgan clearly explains the benefits of being self employed by highlighting her work environment in a whimsical way (her four outdoor break rooms in St. Francisville, Louisiana where she goes to unwind and think) and a practical way (her flexible hours that allow her to spend more time with her children.) Included in this book are profiles of seven self-employed people who were interviewed by the author. Each of them found the courage to leave behind restricting jobs and start their own business. They are characterized as being secure, successful, a finisher, goal oriented, free, a chance taker, and optimistic. Their biographies are located at the end of the book along with information on the companies they founded. I was impressed with the way Morgan applies their experiences to the facts she is trying to get the reader to understand. First-hand information such as this makes the context more applicable. A chapter is devoted to words of good advice from the author as well as people she encountered through her journey to self-employment. Chapter seven is quite precise with tips on start-up costs, writing a business plan, websites to visit for more information, and making a presence in the business world by creating a website. She concludes each chapter with a summation of the chapter topic for quick reference and action. A reference section at the end of the book is loaded with contact people who are experts in their field. No Limits: How I Escaped the Clutches of Corporate America to Live the Self-Employed Life of My Dreams is definitely a great reference book for anyone starting their own business. I especially liked the content of this book. It s an easy read yet has practical advice on business start up practices. Author Sara Morgan s words work, live and have fun are woven throughout the book. Anyone can tell she is living those words after breaking free from corporate America. --Readers Views
Sara Morgan's book No Limits belongs to an increasing sub-genre of books made possible by the rise of the Internet. Self-employment has been made easier than ever thanks to the ability to use the web to bypass the soulless corporate stranglehold on everything consumer-oriented. There are many in this country, and some are in charge, who regard Big Business as a kind of benevolent Big Brother looking out for the future of capitalism. Of course, the truth is far less kind. In my opinion, anyone who gives advice on how to skirt around the evil that is Big Business deserves kudos. No Limits bears a resemblance to other books offering advice on how to make it on your own as a self-employed American, but differs on two distinct accounts. For one thing, Sara writes in a very engaging manner that can be both intellectually challenging and emotionally intense. The second thing that sets this book apart from so many others is plethora of real-life stories. Sara Morgan fills this book with concrete examples of people who have successfully gone from the corporate graveyard to the resurrection of being their own boss. There are also examples for those who are currently just kind of floating through life without purpose or direction. Another plus for No Limits is that Sara is not a false profit offering false profits for any idiot who simply wants to get away from a boss. Striking out on your own and becoming a successfully self-employed person is simply not for everyone. Ms. Morgan outlines in entertaining detail the very important aspects of self-employment that are needed to make it more than a glorified hobby. You will learn the value of being a multi-tasker and the overwhelming vitality of self-discipline. Slackers need not apply in the world of self-employment as delineated by Sara in No Limits. --Timothy Sexton
