The Hero was a complete and utter pig. He knocks up another woman after sleeping with her because he and the heroine have had a fight. Of course, when the h finds out about the other woman they have sex "just one more time".
He marries the knocked up woman but then when he finds out the h had a baby and the dates don't line up with the "just one more time" sex he's all mad and jealous because the h supposedly had found another man within a month of their breakup. HELLO - their breakup was because he got another woman pregnant while they were engaged and he was married to her but he's all mad because the h got another man?!?! Their baby dies in a car accident in which the heroine was driving so of course the H tells her if she hadn't moved away the baby wouldn't have been killed. He isn't so much upset that the baby died but that she didn't tell him right away. HELLO - he was married to the woman he knocked up!! This hero did not have one redeeming quality. I wish the h had slapped him upside the head and married the mechanic who so much more obviously hero material. I hated this book.

Worst book ever,
By mtr "mtr" (w ma) - See all my reviews

For me the book had no romance, the "hero" was nothing but a jerk to the heroine throughout the entire book, and the heroine was way to spineless she was literally killing herself over a guy who cheated on her didn't tell her about it until he found out the other girl was pregnant and never sincerely apologized for the hurt he caused. The "hero" then proceeds to blame the heroine for her baby's death which it wasn't it was a car accident that was a drunk driver's fault, and considering the pain of losing a child saying something like that is in itself is unforgiveable. The heroine forgives him for cheating but when he thinks she slept with someone AFTER they broke up and he married someone else he goes insane. By the way the only reason he slept with someone else while he was engaged to the heroine was because he thought she was flirting with someone else even though all she did was give a guy directions or something related to work (that's like less than a minute conversation). But just from that he goes gets so drunk he falls into bed with a girl that had been trying to seduce him for years. I love romance and this book has no right to call itself a romance. If you're into angst you'll probably like this book I have nothing against the author I actually like some of her other books, I just can't stand this one. I found myself hating the hero throughout the book and disliking the heroine for not being stronger and moving on with her life and quite frankly she could do alot better than him. If you're looking for a good erotic romance try gail faulkner's Into His Keeping (that is how a hero treats a heroine)

Really Horrible,
By
This review is from: No Longer Mine (Paperback)
I have read some of SH's books before and some of her stories are really good, but this one turned me off, I hated the lead male role , he was a pig, always getting jeolous about what happened in the female lead's past. Come on what a jerk! And there was so much-"I love him I hate him and vise versa" I just wanted to tear the book up and throw it away. In the end I just thought why would any female what to get back with such a jerk.

Simply Horrible,
This review is from: No Longer Mine (Paperback)
This has got to be, hands down, one of the worst books I have ever read. The hero was a complete jerk. He had no redeeming qualities. He was a cheat and a liar and he made me so angry that I quit reading the book. I'm so glad that I didn't waste any money on this horrid piece of drivel.

If you want to be depressed, just read this book.,
This review is from: No Longer Mine (Paperback)
What can I say, this book was totally disapointing and depressing. Right from the beginning, one bad thing after another. Never any joy or happiness. You'd get a little peek at the h/h possibly being on their way to getting back together and then the hero would say and think something really stupid and we'd be right back to Nikkie hating Wade and not wanting anything to do with him. I skimmed thru a good portion of this book just to get thru it. Even tho there is a HEA ending (sort of) I would never have read this book if I had known it was such a heart wrenching let down. It could have been so much better. There were so many typos and editing problems that it was very distracting also.

I agree with some of the reviewers that the H was probably not really a good H. FOr some reason I really liked the story but I kept waiting for the H to become a H and it simply did not happen. I was really looking forward to his return to see how the author would redeem a H who has cheated, betrayed and lied but instead the H was unbelievably cruel to the h. I liked the h ecause I tend to like broken characters but reading this book was like watching a H constantly kick a puppy. He repeated says mean things to her and then is enraged if she trys to stand up for herself or walk away. It was just sad. The H made me want to jump in the story and smack him at times but more so for never showing any remorse for all he had done. He expected the h to run back to him after him showing up with a daughter that was concieved with his betrayal with no anger what so ever. The other thing that bothered me about this story was that the readers knew that the story was over not because there was any resolution but because there were no more pages to the book. Nothing is resolved, here was never a resolution that the characters came to that made you believes that they had accepted each others actions, rather, to me it felt more like the characters just choose to let things go instead of resolving them and getting married. It is hard for me to buy a HEA when so many thigs are left unresolved. If having not having a H or a resolution in the story doens't bother you then you might enjoy the book.

The title lured me in,

The title lured me in -- No Longer Mine. As someone who enjoys a Shiloh Walker story, I expected to be swept away. In some ways, I was. In others, I was left in a weird emotional funk. This isn't your average romance with a bit of conflict and a heartwarming HEA, although in ways it does come close. The premise, though simple, is also surprisingly complex. Once upon a time, Nikki and Wade shared a tumultuous and all consuming love. They adored each other, lusted for each other, and yearned for each other in a way that anyone that's been in love can understand. As their impending marriage loomed, neither could imagine life without the other -- until a fight resulted in Wade getting drunk and sleeping with the wrong girl. When Wade reveals the consequent pregnancy that has occurred, Nikki is devastated. Although they share one final tryst, she wakes in the morning and leaves him behind. Little does she know that Wade has given her a parting gift -- a son -- that will allow her to move forward despite the pain. It's not until an accident claims the life of her son that Nikki learns the true meaning of loss, but by then, she's too far gone to care. It's not until Wade returns -- now a widower -- with his young daughter in tow that the pain resurfaces and she's forced to not only deal with the misery of grief but face the man she's never stopped loving. While I did enjoy No Longer Mine, I will confess that it was extremely difficult to like the Wade and Nikki at times -- and my strong reaction to them made it evident that the characters were very real to me. Yes, Wade did something stupid. Yes, he knows it. However, his treatment of the one woman he's always loved is often arrogant and appalling. He fully expects her to confess her undying love now that he's free to return to her arms and his attitude when she does not paints him in a less than glowing light. Of course, Nikki's angst and heartache, while understandable, carries on for so long I wanted to give her a firm shake and tell her to get over it. I'm not undermining the loss of a child, but rather, grew tired of the constant "I want him, but I hate him" jive. By the time I was finished, I felt emotionally drained, and not entirely in a good way. There are positive things to be said, however. The writing is quite good, the pace is fast, and the story does keep your attention. I wondered how the HEA would apply as this is not your average romance and, although it's a tad contrived, it does manage to wrap things up with a bow and ensure those who need closure receive it. Although a reader should be prepared to read material that isn't light or fluffy but dark and raw, I would recommend No Longer Mine to anyone searching for a story that creates strong emotion and reactions. Nikki and Wade, though flawed, are very real characters. Ultimately, that is what makes a story memorable, which No Longer Mine certainly is.

What an emotional roller coaster! I had tears welling up before I even reached chapter 2! This is such a sad love story. I could not put this book down! What I really loved about this book was how realistic it was. Usually in romance novels the man is all mushy and lovey dovey.. pretty unrealistic.. how many men do we know in real life who act that way 100% of the time? Men can be rude, at times stupid, big jack asses and Walker does a great job capturing that in this book. This is a great story about two people who love each other very much trying to find their way back to each dispite all their problems. Fantastic story! (And as always, great love scenes!!)

If you haven't discovered Shiloh Walker yet, this is a great place to start. She's taken both a hero and heroine with dark secrets and hidden problems, teased and tantalized you with their love, made you gnash your teeth over the obstacles in their path and yes, their stubbornness, then brought them together in a highly satisfying conclusion. And let's not forget the terrific love scenes. Shiloh writes in a manner that rabs you and doesn;t let go. I highly recommend this book.

Then this is the book for you. Ms. Walker pens a novel that reels you in from the beginning. She takes you along with the hero and heroine as they work their way back to each other. It is wonderfully written and tugs at your heart until you are hoping that everything works for out for them. I couldn't put this book down once I started reading it.
