4.0 out of 5 stars Deep Elm Sure Knows How To Sign, August 30, 2005
This review is from: No Matter Where We Go..! (Audio CD)
Review by Tyler Wagnon:

Deep Elm has always had a lot of high quality output, and No Matter Where We Go is absolutely no exception to their legacy. Latterman play emotive punk rock that rides the line between Hot Water Music and Against Me! full of jagged guitars and strong vocals melodies.

Latterman are no clone, however. They show their influences but infuse enough of their own sound to make it all their own. This album would be great for a long road trip because throughout the album the rock never lets up, but at the same time there is always a positive vibe pulsing through the speakers. In that respect, throw The Dead Milkmen into the mix as well.

Latterman may have thrust themselves into a struggling genre, but they are doing their best to stop the bleeding. Fun, energetic punk rock with plenty of emotion, attitude, and a positive message. What more can you ask for in a punk rock album?

4.0 out of 5 stars Punk Done Right, March 10, 2006
This review is from: No Matter Where We Go..! (Audio CD)
Deep Elm is one of the best record labels around. They routinely offer promo cds for a penny (!!!) containing many new bands, and they certainly did themselves right signing these guys. To me, they sound like a hybrid cross of early Hot Water Music (especially concerning the vocals) and under the radar era Grade. And this is a very good thing. Their lead single "Doom! Doom! Doom!" plays like you're standing admist a mass of bouncing bodies in a club, and you can almost see the lead singer shredding his voice, spittle flying everywhere. The album is very raw, but satisfyingly so. It is electric, and sparks with energy in spades. But above all, it feels very honest. There is nothing particluarly novel about the album, but there are no pretentions either. It is intensely catchy and enjoyable punk, that is just edgy enough to stay off of most people's radar...but you would do very well to pick this up and give it a spin.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loving Latterman, October 5, 2005
This review is from: No Matter Where We Go..! (Audio CD)
I've seen them live a bunch of times and this CD is true to their sound. Even better than Turn Up The Punk, We'll Be Singing. You can feel the soul they've put into this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Why punk rock lives on, August 21, 2005
This review is from: No Matter Where We Go..! (Audio CD)
There's something about the way a band sounds on record that lets you know how they would sound live. The energy and honesty that come though these songs that I am convinced that these guys would put on one of the most racous, sweaty, and all around astounding live shows today. This record sounds like equal parts Hot Water Music, Bouncing Souls, and Against Me! mixed with that personal honesty that makes any record worth listening to. If you like high-impact punk rock that begs...nay...forces you to sing along, this is absolutly the album for you.
