This review is from: No Monopoly on Suffering: Blacks and Jews in Crown Heights (And Elsewhere) (Hardcover)
Due to the lack of objectivity of this author one may look to balance the perspective with another study on this event. One can read Crown Heights: Blacks, Jews, and the 1991 Brooklyn Riot (Brandeis Series in American Jewish History, Culture and Life) by Edward S. Shapiro. True it is written by a Jewish academician, but he tries to be fair in his assessments of all, and does a good job of pointing out the flaws of both sides and their politics or lack thereof.
