NO MORE FOOT PAIN
How you can "fix" your feet and knees

Whether you are young or old, foot pain is not an irreversible fact of life. With its “Five Secrets of Foot Pain Relief,” this fully-illustrated guide empowers readers to fix their feet and end their pain. The most important job the feet do is support weight. When the foot’s 26 little bones shift out of their proper alignment – the cause of nearly all foot pain – walking becomes a chore. But it doesn’t stop there. The lower leg bones start to lean off-center, and the bones forming the knee joint no longer fit together properly. Cartilage wears away and even more pain results. NO MORE FOOT PAIN shows how to break this vicious cycle by relaxing tensions in the foot and applying correct movement mechanics. Its explanations are easy to follow and quickly change the way you stand, walk, and sit. Think of it as a long-overdue owner’s manual for your feet!

About the Author

MARY BAKALIAN first taught good body mechanics when she taught ballroom dancing at Arthur Murray’s. To solve her pupils’ balance problems, she applied techniques distilled from her studies of Anatomy, Kinesiology, Neuromuscular Re-education, and Breathing Coordination. She founded the first co-ed exercise program at New York’s West Side YMCA and taught classes in Pain Reduction Through Relaxation at Citibank, McGraw-Hill, and Time. While on staff at the Alberto Delgado Fitness Center, she helped rehabilitate “walking wounded” physical trainers whose knees hurt from misusing their feet. The techniques she offers in NO MORE FOOT PAIN have brought relief to countless people by correcting the way they stand and walk.

2.0 out of 5 stars didn't really help, February 5, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: No More Foot Pain : How you can "fix" your feet and knees (Paperback)
This book is very short and doesn't really have any good suggestions or solutions. I have flat feet and a lot of pain in my feet and lower legs (up to knees) because of it. This book tries to solve that problem with visualization techniques to get you to walk correctly and keep your ankle, calf bones and knees lined up correctly. But it didn't have any concrete steps one could take to minimize foot and knee pain. No exercises or recommendations on shoe inserts, etc. I wanted and expected more from it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Why your feet hurt, what to do about it., November 27, 2002

The Author uses imagery to explain conditions that cause pain and offers solutions to resolve problems. Quick fixes are offered as well as more longer term solutions.
One use for this book can be self-healing approach to solving foot problems. Another is using the book's information to help understand your medical caregiver's diagnosis and recovery plan.
The "5 Secret" approach to the subject of foot pain seperates the body parts and makes it easy to focus in on what hurts below the thigh, why, and how does it get fixed.
I espically think the exercises offered to ease pain and correct problems to be the Author's best contribution.
If you hurt or can't get your Doctor to find the time to treat you and explain the issue to correct the problem. Pick up this valueable addition to solving your foot problem.
