5.0 out of 5 stars The immaculate
No doubt that 8Ball and MJG started it all in the south, but so many wondered whether or not they could each hold their own. This album, the first of a solo effort by each of the 2 members of the group, is their answer. This is without a doubt one of the greatest rap albums of all time. I can feel MJG with every verse as he comes real with it, and T-Mix tears it up[ on...

3.0 out of 5 stars It's okay
Well the album is cool. The beats and rhymes are okay. Nothing special about the album. It just an album that you can either bob your head to or listen to the lyrics and think. However, the track "That Girl" is the bomb though. The track alone relates to any guy who wants that particular girl. I know, I'm innocent, I do the same thing. Otherwise the album is...

4.0 out of 5 stars Funky, laid back and dope, April 27, 2005

On MJG's solo album, he comes off like a hard-working normal guy who happens to be a rapper. Most of the songs center on everyday stories and observations. MJG is not really thugged-out, not conscious, but rather occupies a nice middle ground.
The production is mostly laid-back and funky, though the title track incoporates some dissonance, creating a more "dirty" sound over slap bass.
This is a solid and fairly diverse album that would be a nice addition to the collection. Definately a great buy if you can find it for a fair price.

5.0 out of 5 stars No More Glory, December 19, 2002

No More Glory was one of the best albums in 1997. MJG is the "Deep Thoguht Thinker" no one can dupilcate his style its one of a kind. No other rap artist can spit game to a women like MJG he got it locked down. MJG is a poet alone with Ball thats what makes them the sickest and realest artist in the rap game they just dont get the props and thats sad. Like Ball and G state all the time is that they do what they do cuzz they got love for the game and they know that the people that loved them from the start is still gonna be around to give them their props. One of those people is me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gotta respect real ***** MJG, July 18, 2010
I'm a big Eightball & MJG fan. I fell in love with they music ever since "Coming out Hard" I would buy everthing they would come out with. Lately their music aint the same. but I understand times change, and people change. I just miss that original real sound them boys had, and still have to this day......It's just different time nowadays. Them boys should go down as a "CLASSIC DUO"!!!

If you have ever looked at any of my other reviews you will know, I am an avid 8Ball & MJG listener. I have every single cd they have ever made. Although some have not been so good, I am still loyal to the Fat Mack and MJG. Anyway, "No More Glory" is definitely a hit and although it came out several years ago, it still is on heavy rotation in my cd player & IPOD playlist. If you are considering purchasing this cd, I say go for it, you will not be disappointed! YMMV...NEOSOUL06

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best solo albums you've never heard, October 26, 2006
This review is from: No More Glory (Audio CD)
Standout tracks: KEEP YOUR MIND, HIP HOP VOODOO, GOOD DAMN MAN, SHINE AND RECLINE, THAT GIRL, SLIPPIN, NO MORE GLORY, WHAT IS THIS, DONT HOLD BACK, HARD BUT FAIR and MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT etc. Filler. Black mac is back and Take no s**t. Bottom Line: MJG's solo effort is proof that he is not a weak link like most people assume him to be. Songs like Hip hop voodoo, No more glory, What is this, Hard but fair, Keep your mind etc show you that he can flow with the best of them. Its unfortunate that Suave House gyped him and 8ball out of their royalty. Their best albums were under this record label(Lost, In Our Lifetime, No More Glory etc).

5.0 out of 5 stars MJG holds it down on the solo tip, May 30, 2006
This review is from: No More Glory (Audio CD)
I've been a huge fan of Ball & G for years, but was never able to find a copy of this CD until the passed year. "No More Glory" displays MJG's raw talent and his ability to make good tracks w/o Eightball. Although i prefer the duo....the Solo sh** is tight too. Fav Tracks = "Don't Hold Back", "Good Damm Man", "Shine & Recline", and "Hip Hop Voodoo". Also check out Eightball's first solo album, "Lost".

Man people were'nt ready for this back in '97 and they still can't take it. G lays the voodoo down on this record. Every real fan of southern rap knows and appreciates Ball and G as pioneers. But G really shines on his solo record. This is a rare record that still sounds and is relevant today. In fact, it is more relevant now than it was when it came out. So, if you can pick up a copy of this and you will not be disappointed.
