5.0 out of 5 stars may I Massage your Mind??
...song number 5 is french kissing my eardrums with a hardcore yet seductive melody floating liberating poetry into my ears...like a brown canoe slowly floats priceless cargo thru a long dark tunnel. By the time my mind entered song number 9, I was easing my big black truck into her long driveway. By now, believe it or not, this entrancing cd has me more interested in the...

3.0 out of 5 stars an acquired taste
I bought this album because i was looking for some concious hip-hop in an age of crap rap. At first I was less-than-impressed. After listening to the album a few times through however - seriously people - i became hooked. I'm talking all day - every day. This album seriously played for a month str8 in my discman. Some songs are indeed wack - Hurricane G for instance...

...song number 5 is french kissing my eardrums with a hardcore yet seductive melody floating liberating poetry into my ears...like a brown canoe slowly floats priceless cargo thru a long dark tunnel. By the time my mind entered song number 9, I was easing my big black truck into her long driveway. By now, believe it or not, this entrancing cd has me more interested in the spirit of civil rights than my original voyage. I stumbled upon this cd because of Dead Prez, but Da#n!...there are like 15 artists I never heard of who are blazin'! I mean straight blaze-zin!!! This disc is like a cantaloupe daquari...yeah it looks kinda good at a glance...but once you first taste it, it's it's like a hypnotic oil massage, simutaneoulsly, on every nerve ending in your body!! In other words, cop the cd!! Blacks & Whites! As for Me? Well I must now go back to my original oddyssey, but I'm no sell-out! We're going to listen to this cd & "make happy" to this conscious music. And we'll personify those luscious nights on the plantation with our love.......peace, love, & two black doves!

Some songs are indeed wack - Hurricane G for instance sucks! But on a whole this compilation is the shiznit. This album brings attention to a serious struggle and is worth far more than a 50 cent piece for true hardcore hip-hop heads.

What's the Battle Cry? UHURU SASA! If that's not a bangin' message, then I don't know what is. The Plan is definitely off the chain too. This is definitely a gift that must be given if you gonna celebrate this so-called holiday of Christmas. This is a great Kwanzaa gift though. It's HOT!

Dead Prez really knows how to make music. Once you listen you get hooked. Their messages need to be recognized too. The beats are off the hook and get stuck in your head and the songs get better each time you play them. A must have!!

i am so glad to hear other people with the same thoughts i have been having. hip hop isn't very big where i live so it seems like most people around here are only exposed to p diddy and nelly and blah blah blah. it's very frustrating! i like dead prez' style and i definitely recommend it!
