Maybe Not What You Think...., January 4, 2011
`No More Sins' took me by surprise. The cover art made me expect Converge-style metalcore and the name had me reminiscing about working in a record store during the days when bands like Bad4Good and Color Me Badd were selling like jelly donuts at a law enforcement convention. The song titles -- `In The Shadows,' `Rock `N' Roll Dream,' `Tell Me,' `Push It To The Limit,' etc. -- call to mind bands like Dokken and Whitesnake. Of course, it's only the music that matters. 4Bitten is a 4-piece, blues-based hard rock band from Greece with a female singer. And they're pretty damn good. `No More Sins' hasn't changed my life or anything, but the songs and playing are strong, and the vocals are stronger. I'll put 4Bitten in the same category as Baby Animals, Cherry Bombz, Saraya, and Doro -- all of whom have longstanding places in my music collection. This is a solid effort, though it sounds like a lost gem from 20 years ago, dusted off and reissued for a new generation.
