I homeschool and I have been using this workbook as part of our school day. We don't use it every day but my children look forward to the days when it is on our schedule. It has made us all more aware of what we say to ourselves and how it can affect us. We still slip and use some "Stinking Thinking" but now we are aware of it and our able to correct ourselves and encourage one another with what we have learned.

I have used this book in group therapy and the kids love to role play with it. Also, in individual therapy the child usually wants to do more than one chapter (so, I must admit sometimes I cheat and do two!) I hope more of these workbooks are to come!

As a music teacher for over 30 years, I have always sought ways to ensure that my musical instruction will complement and enhance my students' overall education & whole-child development. I purchased this book after noticing that some of my piano students were not always realistic about their successes and frustrations in studying piano. The book addresses these and other emotional issues in terms they can understand. I put a copy in the waiting room along with other books and magazines and am no longer surprised when I open the waiting room door to see a young student (or parent!) totally absorbed in it. It's not written for music study, of course, but healthy thinking affects all their studies.

It's a 3.5 star workbook. My 12 yo son did enjoy the lessons, but we've run out of time with the school year starting.

I found this book very helpful and fun. The instructions suggested to do just one chapter at a time and the kids wanted to do more than that!

Interesting book for teachers to use to promote norms against violence and bully behaviors. Fun and interactive.

This book was too much of a workbook. Not what I had expected. May help some but too rigid for my kids.

My son and I did not care for this book at all. My son has been doing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with a therapist for awhile now and find books to work on the techniques at home as well. There have been many others that were much more interesting and fun then this book.
