Book Description

After losing her husband to a sudden heart attack, Tess Mathews escapes to Bora Bora to lay her husband and sorrow to rest. What she doesn’t expect is a new beginning.
Tom Clemmins is an A-list actor whose life revolves around work and an onslaught of women. He travels to Bora Bora for a much-needed break. Tom has a few ideas of how he’ll enjoy his vacation, but love isn’t one of them. Until he sees Tess.
Reserving a private shark-feeding excursion to scatter her husband’s ashes into the lagoon, Tess is furious when Mr. Hollywood bribes his way onto the boat, leaving her no other choice but to share the boat ride.
Tess is torn between tremendous guilt and zealous lust when their boat ride turns into a week full of romance and desire neither thought imaginable. Utterly smitten with a woman for the first time in his life, Tom casts his commitment phobia aside and whisks Tess off to Malibu where he introduces her as his “girlfriend” on the red carpet.
As the paparazzi besiege, can Tess survive the media blitz that ensues in order to find her second chance at love?

About the Author

For the past twenty-one years, Beverly Preston has been a stay at home mom, although she prefers the title Domestic Engineer, raising her four amazing kids. Along the way, Beverly worked side by side with her husband Don, the love of her life, designing, building and selling custom homes. As her children begin to venture out on their own, she’s left to shed a tear—for a minute—wonder what’s next in life, and embrace the feeling of empowerment that surely must’ve been wrapped in a present she received on her fortieth birthday. If Beverly isn’t at home riding her spin bike, you’ll find her spinning richly emotional and sinfully sexy romance stories.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great story!! Loved it!! May 17, 2012

It isn't often that a story really touches my heart like this one did. I have been a widow for 13 years (has it really been that long?). Tess has come back to Bora Bora, where she and her husband Richard (my beloved's name as well)often went to enjoy the lovely weather, snorkeling, swimming with the sharks and celebrating their love. This time she is coming back to say good bye to Richard and to give his ashes to the waters where he loved to swim.

But what happens? Here comes this man who steals her charter (they end up sharing). Tess believes that everything happens for a reason. She was meant to meet Tom. He took some convincing. Not everyone gets to meet a movie star and fall in love with him.

What an adventure Tom and Tess are taking. One neither of them expected to take. So when you see that title -- it is what it is. No more wasted time or moments.

I know this is a story, a fantasy, but it is a delightful one. You will laugh and cry and you will love it and wish just a little bit that the next time you look up, you would look into the eyes of your "soulmate". It is one of those stories that leaves you feeling good.
Read that book... You won't be sorry.

Beverly --- thank you for this story...

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous First for Beverly Preston! August 9, 2012

A love story that does not revolve around 20 somethings! I loved this book!

After spending nearly a year in mourning following the untimely death of her husband Tess decides it's time to truly put Richard to rest and takes his ashes to their favorite vacation spot, Bora Bora, to scatter them in the waters there. While setting up a charter boat to take her out to the place she wants to leave Richard she is spotted by Hollywood heartthrob Tom Clemmins who is vacationing with his 'date' at the same resort. Tom is immediately smitten with Tess, sends his 'date' packing, and hijacks Tess's charter so that he can meet her. So begins their story. There is guilt on Tess's part, having been married and faithful to Richard for 25 years, and fear of commitment on Tom's part. There is separation that brings them closer together, and the struggle that Tom must go through getting to know and winning over Tess's 3 grown children, all while dealing with the knowledge that he can never have children of his own.

The characters in this book all had depth and character and were very interesting, each in their own way. The plot line was strong and I found myself not wanting to put the book down. The authors descriptions of Bora Bora and other locations in the story make we want to not waste any more time and go there to see them for myself.

I look forward to reading many more novels by Beverly Preston.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good story, though not great August 19, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
NO MORE WASTED TIME was a light, fluffy book that was pleasant to read. The thing that I liked best was that Tess and Tom are in their forties (since I am 59, that is refreshing). However, there was so much sex that I got a bit bored reading the details. Also, there was an awful lot of fuss and fanfare about how gorgeous and accomplished they were; they were always the best at everything.

*******spoiler alert******* The thing that I liked least about this story was the only real crisis in the book, when Tom's picture with another woman is in a magazine and Tess flips out completely. Despite all the talk about trust, Tess doesn't even give him a chance to explain but has what amounts to a temper tantrum and destroys her phone. Instead of being angry at Tess' lack of trust, Tom begs for her forgiveness even though he's done nothing wrong. I lost a lot of respect for both of them and that carried over to the rest o the book. ******* end spoiler *******

I liked the way Tom integrated himself with Tess' children and I thought the scenes at the cabin for Thanksgiving and Christmas were very heartwarming. The imagery in this book was exceptionally fine, with vivid and graphic descriptions. The dialogue was authentic which meant that there was quite a lot of profanity. The writing style was smooth and easy to read. The editing could have used more proofreading (e.g., the past tense of "drag" is "dragged," not "drug") but the mistakes did not interrupt the flow of the story.

Overall, I enjoyed reading this story and I would probably recommend it with qualifications.

This was the best romance novel I have ever read. I applaud the author for making the characters 40+. It is about time, not every romance has to be revolving around 20 something's. Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars Kind of boring
The story was not well edited, it just droned on and on. Every thought in the authors head appeared on the page. It would have been a better read if it was more concise.
