5.0 out of 5 stars It really IS "No-Nonsense" August 29, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
As a person who was interested in Amateur Radio at an early age, it helped to know some of the ins and outs, however, I used another yellow book to take my No-Code Technician exam and I failed.

THIS book, on the other hand, gave me in two weeks, and with less wording, what the other book couldn't get me: my Technician license.

Coupled with online practice exams, my proficiency shot up to 98% by the time I was done.

I HIGHLY recommend this book for anyone interested in Amateur Radio and who wants to take 10 minutes a night to read/study and another 15 to take practice exams before they go for the actual exam.

I'm going to buy this book for my daughter, who wants to learn Amateur Radio, and I've already thought about it as a "gift" item for friends of mine who might be interested. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Resource to Pass the Technician's Exam May 7, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
The No-Nonsense Technician Class License Study Guide by Dan Romanchik, KB6NU, is the first study guide that I read to prepare for the technicians exam. The copy that I used was free off the Internet at the HamElmer website (Easy to find on Google.) The book is comprised of 10 chapters, 4 appendixes, and has a bunch of photos and figures to assist with the learning process. At the end of each chapter are review questions to test your knowledge of the material that was covered. Chapter 4 on Radio and electronic fundamentals, definitions of electrical terms, Ohm's Law, power calculations and the relationship between wavelength and frequency is especially helpful as the information is presented in a clear, concise, and easy to understand format. After I read this book I also read some other resources for the technicians exam. The other book that I recommend is The Ham Whisperer's Technician Class License Course.

Pros:

+ Well organized
+ Easy to understand
+ Well written
+ Relatively short
+ Very effective

Overall Assessment:

The No-Nonsense Technician Class License Study Guide is an excellent resource that I highly recommend. This study guide teaches to the exam and provides the information that you need to know. Once you pass your technicians exam you still have a lot to learn about being a ham operator but this guide will help you to pass the test. Get this study guide.
