4.0 out of 5 stars Greeley Estates heads a new direction
Greeley Estates has changed their sound quite drastically. Go West.., their previous album, I love. It is one of the most unique and creative "screamo" albums out there. It used odd vocal samples, songs with nothing but clean vocals, and a few slow electronic songs. The music was definitely in the higher register.

NRNR, however, is Greeley Estates' ultra...

3.0 out of 5 stars metalcore opinion
if you like metalcore you'll probably like this.

This leans on the more hardcore side of metalcore and its probably a good band if your just getting into the music. Really, its not metal at all and I'd just call this hardcore.

Don't expect too many breakdowns, its quite rare. Otherwise the music isnt bad and the vocalist is pretty good...

Greeley Estates has changed their sound quite drastically. Go West.., their previous album, I love. It is one of the most unique and creative "screamo" albums out there. It used odd vocal samples, songs with nothing but clean vocals, and a few slow electronic songs. The music was definitely in the higher register.

NRNR, however, is Greeley Estates' ultra metal album. No slow electronics, barely any clean singing, just pure straight up thrash metal. Chugging guitars, fast double bass; just all the trademarks of a metal album. The screaming also mostly stays in the deep growls. It's a great album; however compared to Go West' variety, it can sound a little monotinous. Still pick it up though, you won't be dissapointed.

P.S. - The artwork is REALLY cool.

For Fans of the Prior Albums by this band.

This CD has almost no singing. It is not recognizable from "Go west young man." They are now a heavier band with the worst lyrics yet. The music is good just dont expect any singing whatsoever. He does so for like a few seconds once in awhile.

If you were excited that they got heavier in Go west, you'll love this cd. If you hated the transition in style...stay clear from this CD. They're a hardcore band now.

I personally thought this Cd was okay. I hated the lyrics in most songs. I'll listen to it every so often but it doesn't stand out to me for common rotation.
