This is hidden gem! If your idea of a good time is a CD filled to the brim with class party anthems then this one is not gonna disappoint one bit! Great drinkin music and in some ways similar to nine versions of Kiss' Rock and Roll Alnite with a ballad for good measure on one silver disc! Praise be to God! Tryin to discuss individual trax would be defeatest here...cause basically they are all the same (and believe me thats not a bad thing here) Large and loud chunks of cheezy, bighair rock! Queensryche this ain't so beware! Picture this and I quote from Helix themselves..."Lookin for action, cruisin down the street, turn the radio up louder, listen to the beat"....Get the picture? Dumb, hell yeah, but great fun!

I think this was Helix's finest LP.It has two of my all time favorite songs.Heavy Metal Love, and Dirty Dog(wich they didn't even play at they're concert). This is Jamming Heavy Metal before the influence of the POP side of the Industry took control and changed most bands. If you buy this one remember to Crank up Dirty Dog !!!!

back in '84 I bought the tape of "no rest for the wicked" and my tape player in my '73 vw van ate it. so I took it back to the record shop and thought i'd just exchange it since I didn't get to here any of it. and the guy there said."you can't miss this one, these dudes got it together"... well I gave it another listen and the rest is history, as is the van, the tape and the band. The other day I kept hearing the opening drum beat and chords from "Ain't no high like rock n roll" in my head and couldn't shake it, so here I am some eighteen years later buying the CD. Any band that can pull me in from obscurity definately deserves five stars. whoa yeah...

Got this album after seeing the video for Heavy Metal Love, what a great song! This album is full of good time Helix rock. The best songs are Does A Full Ever Learn, HML, Don't Get Mad Get Even (rocks), Dirty Dog (fun catchy song), and Never Wanna Lose You (the ballad). I think Walking The Razors Edge is their best but this album should be in your metal collection too. Crank it and break open some beers!

Do you like 80's metal? Awesome guitar solo's? High energy Rock n roll? Then you need this CD for your collection. This band never received the attention they deserved lost in the shuffle with Motley Crue, Def Leppard, and other bands that couldn't come close to the music Helix produced. Don't look for hidden meanings or statements about the decay of society. This is rock n roll at its purest form.

Originally released in 1983, No Rest for the Wicked was the third studio album by Canadian hard rock band Helix. This was one of those bands that always did well, but never made it to the huge status their music probably deserved. By the time No Rest for the Wicked came out, Helix was just making the transition from a more straightforward barroom rock sound to the emerging heavy metal scene.

No one is going to confuse Helix for Iron Maiden or Judas Priest, but you can't deny the metallic edge the songs on No Rest for the Wicked have. You still get some of the bluesy hard rock vibe the first two Helix albums had, but the songs are catchier, the guitar work is harder and the songwriting fit perfectly with what bands like Y&T and Quiet Riot were doing at the time. "Heavy Metal Love" is a fun single, and as love songs go, "Never Want to Lose You" is as epic and metallic as Krokus's "Screaming in the Night." Other high octane rockers on this album include "White Lace and Black Leather" and of course the title track.

No Rest for the Wicked was a major step forward for Helix, and while it wasn't as popular as the following year's Walkin The Razors Edge, it's still one of the band's best albums overall. It's a must-have if you're a Helix fan, and one that most serious fans and collectors of `80s hard rock ought to own, especially now that it has been reissued.

Edition Notes: Rock Candy's 2005 reissue of No Rest for the Wicked features digitally remastered audio, and it's a pretty terrific remastering at that. No bonus tracks this time around, but the booklet is loaded with vintage photos and an informative band essay. In other words, it's another great Rock Candy reissue.

Helix is one of the great unsung bands of the 80's. My husband had "Walkin' The Razor's Edge" as a teenager, but when we tried to get it from the local music store, they couldn't get it. We have 3 albums by this band now, all ordered from Amazon, and we couldn't be more pleased. Usually an album has 2 or 3 great songs, a lot of okay songs and a couple of flat out stinkers. Helix doesn't make stinkers. Helix doesn't even make okay songs. Their albums are stuffed with nothing but great songs. This album is no exception. My personal favorite song off of this album is "Does A Fool Ever Learn". I would definitely recommend this album, and for that matter, this band to any true fan of 80's hair metal. Helix rocks!!!

Heavy Metal Love, their first video, their first stab at the U.S. charts. This album rocks from start to finish. White Lace and Black Leather, No Rest For The Wicked, there is so much good music on this disc for the 80's metal maven. I hope their other discs get re-released soon, this is some serious power rock that needs to be brought back to the forefront of the ever drowning music world of today. Helix was a breath of fresh air and to this day noone sounds quite like them. Check this and any other Helix out. I highly reccommend it.
