Book Description

A girl who needs to undo the past.
A boy who wants to forget it.
In love, there's no way back.

At high school in Steep Hill, Kansas, Cassie O'Malley and Josh MacBride were the poster couple for quarterback/cheerleader romance until they starred in their own tale of teen pregnancy. No need to say: their shotgun wedding was low-key. But when there was no baby anymore, they went their separate ways.

Five years later, Josh has breezed through Georgetown and is about to finish his post-grad degree at Oxford University. He is set to join a lobbying group on Capitol Hill, owned by his new fiancée's father. For Josh, the sky is now the limit... only he must first take care of a tiny legal matter: technically, he's still married to the girl who broke his heart.

Meanwhile, Cassie has been waiting tables in Steep Hill to pay for her sick grandmother's care. On the day of the old lady's funeral, Cassie is served with two sets of papers. Josh is asking for a divorce. Her heart squeezes, but, well, he moved on a long time ago. But the second envelope shakes Cassie to the core. So, for the first time, she leaves Kansas and heads to good ol' England.

There, Cassie finds that Josh has not just "moved on," he's freakin' engaged to some blue-blooded heiress. The feelings Cassie had buried deep rush back to her. But no matter if he keeps thrusting the divorce papers under her nose, she needs him to save the only person she loves more than Josh, more than life itself...

~ EXCERPT from NO REVERSE, copyright 2013 Marion Croslydon ~
"I guess old habits die hard."

I ignored his plea. "What do you
mean by that?"

"I haven't changed as much as I thought, as
much as I tried to... Whenever you get close, I have to get closer."

I muffled a yelp.

I blinked.

I hadn't expected his words, not
now, not ever. I hadn't expected for Josh's soul to walk stark naked  in front
of me. The fact he'd let it happen made me giddy. My knees went weak.

"The truth, Cass, the truth is
that I've missed you. I've missed our friendship. I've missed talking to you,
laughing with you, teasing you." He chuckled but his smile was sad. "Because
when you sing about home, it makes me think of you."

He hunched over and his
shoulders drooped. My sight got blurry. I forced myself to stay put. But who
was I kidding? No matter what the sensible part of my brain was yelling at me,
I couldn't hear it because I'd switched it off.

When Josh looked up at me, I
tensed my body to ward off shaking. He was hurting, hurting for me. I took a
step. Two steps, until I stood next to him, so close his breath smoothed over
my face. The heat between us tingled at my skin.

He was so tall, so broad, so
strong. And still, I could feel his pain, a pain only I could heal. I curved my
body into him, and as soon as our chests touched he shuddered and stiffened.
But when my forehead leaned against his jaw, the tension in him went away. His
arms moved as if he wanted to wrap them around me but then changed his mind.

I wanted him to cuddle me. Just
a cuddle, a moment of him I could take with me. I shut my eyes and breathed in
the scent of his skin. I let it wake my memories of our first time under the
cotton tree and I wanted to taste his lips again. I stared up at him. His gaze
was lowered, and my hands reached up to cup his face. I went on my tip-toes.
Even then, because of his height, I had to tilt back my head to look at him.

My fingers brushed at his
cheeks, slid along his neck, buried themselves in his hair. I moved even closer
until the tip of my nose touched his. I heard the sound of his breath trapped
in his throat. Our eyes locked. I moved my face against his in our secret way,
our kiss without a kiss. But it wasn't enough. In his next breath, his mouth
reached for mine.

There was no foreplay, no
tugging, no teasing. Our tongues collided like at war.

1.0 out of 5 stars No Reverse August 10, 2013
By Nana
Format:Kindle Edition
Spoiler Alert >>> Read at Your Own Caution

What drew me to read No Reverse was the beautifulness of the cover, well it should have come with an advice: "don't be fooled by the cover". What a mess!!! Under developed characters and a bad soap opera is a master piece compared to the drama that the author uses as an excuse of a plot-line. I don't even think the characters are even under half construction and forgot about character developing. Let me start with Cassie, she is one of the most unlikable female characters I have the displeasure to read. The author tried really hard to portrait her as a selfish martyr, but it didn't work, it could have worked better if the author just wrote; "she is so unselfish, believe me please". The reasons behind why she gave up her son are just ridiculous, she had a husband, a home and a job, but she took the easiest way not for her love Josh, like the author really tried to convince the reader but it came as a girl who didn't want the responsibility, period. The funniest thing is that she will have never told Josh about the existence of the son if it wasn't because the poor kid once again was an orphan. Now let's talk about Josh, well he loves Cassie so much than in less than a year he was messing around with everything that moves because Cassie broke his heart, but thanks to Eleanor he found some peace and he has been in a relationship with her for the last four years. He is super smart, that's another thing the author really tried to convince the reader by mentioning some of the smartest decisions Josh took when Cassie came back into the picture; he is engaged but he is still married. He didn't tell Eleanor he is married. He leaves Eleanor, who is the only half decent character in the story and one day later he is having sex with Cassie.

4.0 out of 5 stars Even the most complicated loves can work out . August 11, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Six years ago Cassie and Josh were set to be married , best friend since they were six years old. The thing though was that they came from different sides of the tracks. Cassie O'Malley was a white lower-class girl living with her dying grandmother after her mother couldn't raise her and Josh MacBride was son of the town's mayor and had a college ride ahead of him from Georgetown to Oxford University. The pair married but their happiness was short-lived and the pair went their separate ways. Until now Six years later, fate has decided to bring them back together as Cassie's grandmother has just decided and the son she gave up for adoption - his parents have just passed away and on top of that Josh wants a divorce. Feeling overwhelmed Cassie, takes a plane ride to the UK to talk to Josh as he has no idea that she had the baby and gave him away in order to give Josh the life he has now. Josh on the other hand is engaged to Eleanor , the daughter of a Politician and a wealthy one too and wants the divorce so they can marry. What will happen though when Cassie arrives on Josh's doorstep with the "real truth" about what happened six years ago ? The pair despite their anger at each other have never stopped loving the other but are they ready to work together in order to save their son from going into foster care ? It seems though that whilst in the UK -Cassie has attracted the attention of bartender Sam Blackhawk who is willing to fight for Cassie and Lucas ? Who will Cassie choose - Sam or Josh ? Will Josh be able to forgive Cassie for everything that has happened the past six years or will he realise his happiness is with his current life and Eleanor ?

No Reverse is a great read and I am looking forward to reading the sequel which will feature more "Lucas" time - which is the son.

4.0 out of 5 stars Emotionally intense contemporary romance August 13, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Josh MacBride loved Cassie O'Malley with everything that was in him, and Cassie returned that love wholeheartedly. When Cassie got pregnant, she and Josh got married. Josh's dad was not happy about it at all. He considered Cassie to be "white trash." Josh, on the other hand, had a future, a big bright future ahead of him - one which Cassie didn't want to stand in the way of - one which Josh would have easily and willingly given up for her. Cassie thought she was doing the right thing, the best thing for Josh, but wound up breaking his heart. Fast-forward 5 years. Cassie is still in Steep Hill Kansas. She's been waiting tables and taking care of her sick grandmother for the past five years and she and Josh are technically still married. She has just buried her grandmother when she receives divorce papers from Josh. She also receives another letter, a letter which changes everything. She knows she has to talk to Josh, to come clean and tell him everything, which requires her to go to England, spending what little money she has left, but...when she gets there, not only is he not happy to see her, he has moved on and is engaged to someone else.....someone who is worthy of him........someone from an important and wealthy family, someone better than Cassie, someone who can fulfill his dreams, or can she?

I really did enjoy this story, but it was also so heartbreaking. Josh and Cassie, pushed by forces that were against them and not for them, each made choices that they thought were the best thing for the situation they were in at the time. Josh neglected to tell Cassie before they got married that he had been accepted into Georgetown, and she in turn fabricated her own web of deceit, thinking she was doing what was best for Josh.
