5.0 out of 5 stars An exceptional resource about violence against women., July 22, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: No Safe Haven: Male Violence Against Women at Home, at Work, and in the Community (Paperback)
Here's an exceptional resource about violence against women, created by an American Psychological Association (APA) Task Force on Male Violence Against Women.

It examines in scholarly detail many past studies about the topics of intimate violence, harassment, and rape, yet uses language that remains understandable to the layperson.

The authors recognize that violence against women is symptomatic of..."a social climate in which sexual victimization (has become) an almost normative event in women's lives"(p. 152).

The book is thorough, understandable, and makes good, practical recommendations for further research, legislation, and social change.

I highly recommend it to everyone who is interested in the study of violence against women.
