No Salt Sodium-Free Salt is without doubt the best-tasting salt substitute with the least aftertaste that we have found.

My co-author, Paul Elliott, and I spent two years developing recipes for The Collard Patch. Since we wanted to make our recipes as healthy as possible, we researched the different brands of potassium chloride that we could find. No Salt was much more desirable than any other product we tried.

It tastes more like salt than any other no sodium product.

No Salt brand is the best tasting salt substitute for salt junkies like me and in its original 11 oz form sold at most supermarkets it is also the best value (usually priced on sale @ around $4.95), but here @ from $5.75 to $5.95 with shipping costs ranging from $3.50 and up, the value stinks. You'd be better off buying the Nu Salt brand from Amazon: it's sold in 3 oz shakers, packs of 12 shakers for $16.20, which is about $5.40 per 12 oz of product PLUS you can avoid the shipping cost if you are an Amazon Prime customer. Nu Salt has a slight aftertaste (IMHO), but it doesn't override the cost savings.

This really is the best tasting salt alternative you can buy. I think it is a bit expensive , but it lasts quite awhile. I have been using this for years , but can no longer find it in stores. Thank goodness Amazon carries it!

I have to eat low sodium, so I suffered with AlsoSalt- metallic aftertaste, everyone else hated it, and it would not dissolve in liquid. I thought NoSalt was just a larger pkg of similar stuff.
NOT SO! This product tastes quite close to salt to me. I'm as happy as a kid at Christmas! NoSalt has virtually no aftertaste alone, and I detect none in food I use it in. It is completely soluble, even in water! Mom thinks it tastes ok so I can use it in cooking. Making nutrient packed, tasty, low sodium food is very time consuming. I even have to make a lot of condiments. Sometimes, I just don't have the energy. This product actually makes my life just a little easier, and frankly more enjoyable.
A big bonus, my salt cravings are gone!

I had such high hopes for this product as I am embarking on a low sodium diet. In my humble opinion, it has a terrible aftertaste. It can only be used in miniscule amounts and that defeats its purpose. It cannot deliver a salty taste without a lingering aftertaste. Sorry.

I've used this brand, as well as Nu-Salt, for years. I see no difference in taste between either brand, neither having a bitter aftertaste in my opinion, nor in my family's opinion. When I substitute it in soups for regular salt, no one in my family even notices what I've done.

By the way, in addition to lowering one's sodium intake, this product is an excellent, very inexpensive source of potassium. Potassium has the potential to prevent the formation of kidney stones, lower blood pressure, and carry oxygen to the brain.

For those who are afraid of overdosing on potassium, Dr. Andrew Weil states on his blog that high blood levels of potassium is rarely due to diet. He says, "It is unlikely that you could eat enough bananas or use enough of a potassium-based 'salt substitute' to elevate the potassium in your blood."

Sadly, I have a strong salt addiction, so, I decided to buy this product and thus substituting the table salt I regularly consume. However, it tastes HORRIBLE! You are now warned.
