Too poppy,

Too many R&B hooks on here and not enough rapping about murder and selling drugs. No Jae Hood. This album shouldn't even be associated with the d-block name.
I've been a fan of D-Block since 2002, so I know what I'm talking about. Anyone who likes this album, just listen to Peer Pressure Part 1(Haven't heard part 2 yet, but its gotta be better than this garbage.) and tell me that this album compares lyrically and beat wise to their earlier material. I like their older tracks with R&B hooks like I-95, but this is just way too commercial for me. At least I-95 was a deep track about eventually getting out of the drug-dealing life. I don't know this album just doesn't mix right with me. However, I gave it 2 stars, since there are a couple of decent tracks.

I'm writing this review for the 15 song (3 bonus song) CD. Styles, Sheek, and Jadakiss finally get the D-Block boys together for a real album, not a mixtape. They bring 9 other members on this one, all being decent to good on the mic. You have the two I've heard the most from, Bully & Straws (one half of Team Arliss), both I've heard on about 15 songs, you have Snyp Life, AP, Bucky, S.I. and Ty & Don D from Carolina, all who I've heard on 2-4 songs before and Large Amount who I've never heard. Of course there is no J-Hood, who was the strongest on the mic in the group, and I don't know where Trav, the other half of Team Arliss is on this one. Every person is on 3-6 songs otehr than Styles & Sheek, 9 and 10 of the songs, and Don D is only on 1. Of the 15 songs, you get 2 near classic, 4 ok ones, and 9 good or real good songs. Production is pretty good as well. Vinny Idol does 4 songs, Poobs does 2, Tuneheadz, Wayne Retti, Crada, The Twin, Scram Jones, Minnesota Boys, MD, Pete Rock and Surefire each do 1. A nice album to have for fans of real stret rap.

I was waiting for this album for a while but it was worth the wait. D-Block has good up and coming talent in Bully, Large Amount, A.P., and Bucky. I Love D-Block and this album is very good. Top 5 songs Get That Paper, Brother's Keeper, So Much Troble, Hustlers Prayer, and Show em

DOPE,
This review is from: D-Block (Audio CD)
This cd has a nice line-up of new artist. With help from Sheek, Styles P and Jadakiss. I was skeptical at first b/c Kiss is only on 2 tracks but the new guys are DOPE enough to carry the cd alone.

Dope Record!!!!,
This review is from: D-Block (Audio CD)
The young d-block soldiers are hungry, and that alone makes for a dope record. The beats are sub-par but overall the record is dope.
