Pepper's strongest release,
By
This review is from: No Shame (Audio CD)
Pepper has been around almost 10 years now, and they have grown better and better with every album. Sure this album is not perfect, but it is their best release and seperates them from all those annoying connections to Sublime. I agree that "Kona Town" may have sounded similar to a Sublime record, but this album is no "Kona Town". Pepper has finally brought out their own, unique sound to "No Shame", and its a damn good one. I love the new direction that Pepper is taking, and hopefully more people will warm up to this great reggae/rock album.
All the tracks on this album are great, with the exception of "Like Your Style" and "Old Time Problem", both of which seem a little out of place. Pepper's reggae beats are infectious and very well produced, like Green Hell and Crazy Love, and their more rock influenced songs are just as impressive, such as No Control and Wanted. The main thing to get out of this album is that Pepper has found their own, unique sound, one that seperates them from Sublime and is a step in the right direction. Pepper, congrats on a great release.

VERY good CD for Pepper fans...,
This review is from: No Shame (Audio CD)
No Shame is an excellent album. It is definately a little more laid back than all of Pepper's previous releases, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. This album just flows, and there are several EXTREMELY catchy songs that you'll want to hear over and over. If you like rock/reggae style music like Sublime, Slightly Stoopid, and 311, then you can not go wrong with this album, or any other Pepper CD. Go buy it, and enjoy.

Don't listen to these people talking about sublime,

This review is from: No Shame (Audio CD)
I hear so many unfair reviews towards pepper because basically they dont sound like sublime or that they are slipping away from sublime, THEY ARE THEIR OWN BAND! THEREFORE THEIR OWN SOUND! DEAL WITH IT.
But this record is a great one just put it in and you dont have to touch the dial , everysong on here has something different to offer.

this is a great new cd by pepper. new listeners and old fans alike will be pleased. At first, I didn't like it as much as their their second cd, Kona Town, but found it more enjoyable than their third, In With The Old. After a few times listening to it though, it quickly became my favorite - it just grows on you. It has a very relaxed, beach-style sound to it - listening to it will take you away from all the hastles of your daily life and put you right on the beach with the band. The song Point and Shoot though, I feel was unnecessary. While funny, I feel almost embarassed listening to it, even when I have my head phones on. All in all, a great disk that anyone familiar with Pepper, or any first time listeners will thouroughly enjoy.

sublime wanna be.....PLEASE!!!!,

Alright now, i'll be the first to admit that Pepper's style had to be influenced by great reggae/rock bands like 311 and Sublime. Then again even 311 and Sublime had to be influenced and I'm sure if had to come from the god of reggae Bob Marley who really carries this movement. But I must say that Sublime's style is something of the past now and Pepper's style along with a whole movement of new and upcoming so called DUB ROCK groups is a much more modern and up to date sound and to tell you the truth WAY BETTER THAN SUBLIME. there is no doubt in my mind that when it's all said and done Pepper will be viewed as a better group than Sublime ever was and i'm sick and tired of hearing the comparrisons to Sublime cause not all of sublimes songs were good and my opinion is that almost every song of peppers is good. Now i'll be a little more blunt about this subject. If you haven't heard pepper yet and you like sublime read this.....Pepper makes sublime sound wack! yeah I said it and I don't care what people might think about that but it's my opinion and that's how I feel. Some other great reggae/dub rock bands that you've got to check out are .......Madd Caddies.....The Expendables......Slightly Stoopid.........Passafire .....The Supervillians.....Tribal Seeds......Iration.....! These bands are starting a revolution/movement and it's not going to stop it will only grow with more and more listeners so please try it out and help spread the positive music

Pepper never ceases to please. I own all of the previous CDs and each one is better than the last. They definately brought another healthy dose of the laid back style with this new CD. All I can say is I can't wait to see them at the House of Blues this November!

Just Press Play,
This review is from: No Shame (Audio CD)
An amazing Album. All you have to do is press Play and just let the music flow. Might just be their best album. A bold statement I know but all you have to do is buy it and give it a listen and you will know what Pepper is about.

This review is from: No Shame (Audio CD)
I've been a fan of Pepper for while and just saw them in concert 2 days ago and to come on here and see this record not average 4/5 stars is ridiculous! This might be their best cd, outside of Kona Town.
