After nearly 2 months of this release being out in Germany, it is finally released in the US. The difference between the two is the bonus DVD. The German release had the Marrakech video and the trailer for the movie Mindhunters, which Marrackech is part of the soundtrack. The US gets and Ecstasy chill track and the video for Ecstasy, even though the making of the Marrakech video is part of the bonuses on the DVD, which is weird you don't get to see that video too. And lastly, after not understanding what was being said in German on my Kontor records Region 2 DVD, I finally get subtitles with this release.

On to the album.
1-Marrakech-An awesome first release off the album, with some really hot vocals from Tiff Lacey. 5/5
2-Ecstasy-Another Tiff Lacey voiced hit, that is great as a slower paced trance tune, and even better if you can find the import CD single which has some awesome club remixes. 5/5
3-The Autumn Leaves-A slower paced pop tune, which is rather well done and the vocals are sweet. 3/5
4-Here With Me-Tiff Lacey seems to get the 3 best vocal tracks on the album, and this may be my top choice of the three. 5/5
5-Black Nights-A chill pace with some great vocals from Madelin Zero. This one is quite catchy and Andre plays piano on this track!! 4/5
6-Mysterious Skies-ATB's best instrumental trance of his huge musical career. This track is incredible!!! 5,000/5
7-Collides With Beauty-This one is a dance hit waiting to happen. Great vocals and lyrics. 5/5
8-Sun Goes Down- A very cool chill track with male vocals (actually Roberta Carter Harrison's husband!). A very uplifting and catchy beat. 4/5
9- After The Flame-The familiar sounds of Roberta Carter Harrison are back and her collaborating with ATB on his album's is a given. Glad to have her back. I think Tiff did an excellent job with Marrackech and her voice makes it unique, but I think Roberta could have easily sung Ecstasy and Here with Me and had them sound just as good as Tiff. 4/5
10-IntenCity-Another awesome trance instrumental. Two whoppers of instrumentals on here make this album worth the price alone. 5/5
11-Eternal Swells-It's a mellow instrumental with some interesting bass sounds, but overall not too memorable. 2/5
12-Wait For Your Heart-Roberta Carter Harrison is back with a pop sounding chillout track. It's decent, but I'd rather hear her on slammin' dance tunes! 3/5
13-Circular Symetry-A nice uplifting, chillout instrumental to end the album. Some interesting guitar sounds meshed in, giving an ATB vintage feel reminiscent of his track "The Summer". Lay back on the beach with this one. 4/5

And yes, I feel ATB is the best DJ on the planet, as no one has produced better tracks over the years. His talent for coming up with slammin' chart topping hits, and using the best female vocalists in the world are second to none.

With this being ATB's 5th "artist" album with all original tracks, no other DJ, not even Tiesto or Sasha, has produced 5 solid albums. Tiesto and Sasha may be the best mixers and selectors of dance music, but there currently isn't a more prolific DJ/producer.

ATB is #1

I got the original Limited Edition Kontor Records German import from Amazon.de about a week-and-a-half ago, and I must say I was both excited and impressed with something new from atb. In the opening of the DVD that came exclusive to this 2 CD set (don't know if the one Amazon.com is selling here has the bonus DVD or not) Andre says how he is looking to change his sound each time and reinvent himself. He certainly has changed it up a bit with this new album, but I am still impressed and will be pumping his new sound for a long time to come.

First, he has a new vocal presence with Tiff Lacey (from Oakenfold's Hypnotised) who sings on 3 of the tracks, and possibly the 3 best tracks on here: Marrakech, Here With Me, and Ecstasy. Roberta Carter Harrison, the siren from the Wild Strawberries and atb's previous hits You're not Alone, Let U Go, Long Way Home, and Hold You is back for two more tracks. One of them is a slower melody, the other is a bit faster. Her husband Ken Harrison actually does the vocals for one song. Someone named Michal the Girl also sings on one track. Radikal Records' Madelin Zero sings on 2 other tracks.

Overall, one departure from atb's normal albums was that he use to feature nearly half or more of an album with either full out instrumentals, or tracks with small vocal phrases thrown in (a la 9PM). Well, on No Silence, only 4 of the 13 tracks are instrumental. The other 9 have full out lyrics! The shortest lyrics of the 9 is Marrakech.

Tiff Lacey's exotic sounding voice is perfect for Marrakech. I am not sure if her mispronunciation of the words "ritual" and "adventure" is deliberate of not, but it doesn't distract from this exotic, flavorful song anyway. Ecstasy is the 2nd release off the album and it's a great slower groove dance song. I can't wait to get a CD single with some remixes.

What is very different about this album are the amount of slower, pop-like tunes that are included, which atb touched on briefly on the unofficially titled hidden track "Ruby" on his Addicted to Music album. On one track, atb actually plays the piano! They are a much different departure from the rest of his music history.

If you are lucky to get the German Limited Edition CD with the bonus DVD, you will get the Marrakech video, the making of the video and atb interview (in German language only), exclusive photos, the trailer to the movie Mindhunters (which Marrakech is featured in), again in German, and 3 remixes of Marrakech. Last but not least, you get an exclusive access code to the atb website where you can download a new atb exclusive track called Union by Farrago. It's on atb's DJ In the Mix CD, but I think the website versoin is longer at 8:44. The UK version was just relased, but it seems to list only 1 CD, so it may not have the DVD. No sign of any release date of a US version or what it will feature. Amazon is listing two different version here, and I am not sure exactly what each one is.

I highly recommend all old and new atb fans to pick up this brilliant new album by one of the best DJ/writer/producer's on the planet.

I must admit that I had previously written off ATB as some trance hack a few years ago when I first heard "Two Worlds" (which has grown on me considerably in the past year). Then I heard "Addicted to Music" which immediately changed my mind about the former construction worker turned dj. I finally got around to buying "No Silence" (found a copy in the used bins) over the weekend. "No Silence" picks up where "Addicted to Music" leaves off. Granted that his music isn't groundbreaking but it is enjoyable nevertheless. Andre Tanneberger always seems to balances the world of trance and downtempo music and combines them into one sound. Although I miss hearing the instrumentals that I am used to hear on ATB's cds, I love the angelic female vocals that ATB uses. Still there are a couple of instrumental songs on the cd, I especially love the uplifting instrumental "Mysterious Skies" that sounds eerily like something Paul Van Dyk would do. Another song that stands out with me is the gorgeous "The Autumn Leaves". The female vocals is what really makes the song addictive to listen to for me. Watching the video for "Marrakech" on the bonus dvd makes me wish that MTV/VH1 would air music videos by dance artists like ATB instead of playing the same ol' hip hop/r&b/pop/rock videos they play day in and day out. "No Silence" may not be nearly as good as "Addicted to Music" (my favorite ATB cd) but it sure comes darn near close to it.

I have listened to a number of "great" trance albums in the past by a number of artists, but I usually get bogged down somewhere in the middle. Many trance artists only manage a couple of really good songs in each of their cd and then add a bunch of filler sub-par songs just to get it on the shelves. Even ATB has done this in some of his past cds. This cd, however, saves me the trouble of pushing the skip button. It provides a wonderful listening experience from start to finish.

The thing I respect the most about Andre is how he really understands melody. He doesn't just lay down a good beat and add crappy techno loops like some artists I know. He does his best to provide the best all-around listening experience. This cd flows very nicely from song to song, allowing you to just chill and enjoy the music.

Of course, there are a few songs towards the middle that fall a tiny bit below the bar set by the rest, but the cd is firmly anchored in place by the first and last thirds of the songs. Nobody can expect all of the songs to be as good as some are. I also applaud Andre's use of variety in this cd. The trip-hop "Black Nights" and even the (gasp) male vocals in "Sun Goes Down" prove beyond a doubt that Andre has a pretty broad talent.

At this point this is my favorite trance cd on the market and certainly the best I own. If you like melody and good mixing you can't go wrong with this album.

I had really no idea what to expect when I bought this CD. I had only heard the sone Ecstasy and fell in love it from the beginning. I put the CD in and was shocked. It was different than what I expected. I listened to it again. Then, I realized that this is one of the most valuable and worthwhile CDs of dance/trance music. Andre's talent is very prominant.
The vocals on the CD are outstanding. This CD is awsome and anybody who says any different does not appreciate the beauty of it.
Tiesto does not even stack up against this DJ.
Andre truly has talent.

ATB continues to try to re-invent himself, to make each album another great piece of music. He does not disappoint with his [import] album.

ATB's release before "No Silence", "Addicted to Music", showed us exactly how much ATB was re-inventing himself, and why we became "addicted to music" from ATB. From "movin' melodies" to tunes from "two worlds"... ATB has produced some amazing tracks. An album that combines all of his previous albums' style into one, with some fresh sounds. But he does keep his trance roots strong, with his emphasis on dance cross-overs is still very apparent. Mixing beats of trance, dance, progressive, chilled, and trip-hop, it shows a whole new world of ATB sounds.

While listening to the album, I found that each song had its individual flavor. Unlike other artists whose albums are bland due to the fact that they use the same beats, sounds, and vocals, ATB's "No Silence" affirms itself to be anything of that sort, in fact, a city on the other side of the world (Marrakech is a city in Morocco).

One thing that this album did often remind me of is the artist Delerium, due to the new array of vocalists featured on this album, dark and soothing lyrics, ambient sounds that create a whole new world, guitar and piano melodies, and trip-hop beats. It's a whole new sense of music while listening to these songs, with a sense of respect of the world and nature, of natural beauty and the earth.

ATB blends the album together; at the end of each track he leads the listener a few seconds ahead to the next track.

1. "Marrakech" [4:22] takes you on a journey of the mysterious city, ambient sounds that create a whole world. The beautiful, exotic vocals are provided by Tiff Lacey ("Hypnotised" - Paul Oakenfold). A guitar melody reminiscent of his melodies of "Addicted to Music" ("Gentle Melody"), adds to the blend of Tiff Lacey's vocals and seductive, trance beat.

2. Ecstasy [4:21] is another great track with vocals by Tiff Lacey. The vocals are even more distant in this track, describing the whirlwind of emotions caused by that one person you fall in love with that one person.

3. Autumn Leaves [5:42] was truly a different piece done by ATB. "As I'm walking through the rain / cold tears falling down my face / ...like the autumn leaves / ...on windy day." A chilled, down-tempo track that describes the feeling of being alone. It uses this odd water-drop sound, which made me think of the funny synth he used in the intro of "Do You Love Me" from "Addicted to Music". The vocals are the perfect voice for this song, airy and light, the sugary vocals are provided by Michal the Girl (Michal the Girl had an album come out in 2003, her website is www.michalthegirl.com/). The song is ominous, with a slow beat; you can imagine a girl walking down the road with autumn leaves falling at her feet.

4. Here With Me [5:12] reminded me of "Hold You" from "Dedicated", with beats of "Addicted to Music". It also had a whole new feel to it, which I absolutely loved. Simple, beautiful piano melody accompanies the vocals of Tiff Lacey, which threw me off. She sounds somewhat like Roberta Carter Harrison, but with the chorus you know it is Tiff Lacey. Her voice is very different in this track, the track seems to show her stronger voice. This track is my personal favorite.

5. Black Nights [5:02] is a mysterious song, with a sense of dark to it. With a trip-hop beat, melodies, and vocals that reminded me of Delerium... this song was another great listen. It was awesome to hear the vocals done by Madelin Zero, whose voice was perfect for the dark setting that the song set up. But, the song goes into this "happier" chorus with annoying lyrics: "you're on my radar / on my radar / with your designer love...". Zero's voice also seems to get very nasally during the chorus... But the acoustic sounds, beat, background strings, and piano melody, it was a great crossover of dance/trip-hop/pop/rock.

Though I would like to go in depth with the rest of the tracks, reviews of the first five tracks is enough. Roberta Carter Harrison (Hold You, Let U Go, and Addicted to Music), returns to do tracks 9 and 12: "After the Flame" and "Wait For Your Heart". "After the Flame" reminds me so much of "Addicted to Music" like as if it was another track on that album that got misplaced. After hearing all those other artists, it was great to hear her voice again. "Wait For Your Heart" is a bit odd, it's very slow song, with an almost Nintendo-sounding synth; her voice comes across as very enhanced with filters and such. Ken Harrison, on track 8: "Sun Goes Down", which reminded me of Junkie XL's "Perfect Blue Sky" with The Cure's Robert Smith. "Sun Goes Down" sounds like a chilled, listen to on the beach, down-tempo song which is great to hear ATB do such a different track on his album. Ken Harrison, Madelin Zero, RuDee, and Woody van Eyden all contributed to the writing of the tracks as well. (My personal favorite is the last track, Circular Symmetry, which is just instrumental. Beautiful guitar melody.)

Another great album.

Most dance/techno artists seem to have awesome music and super cheesy lyrics that often times are random and make no sense at all. However I was astonished at how stong the lyrical content on this album was. The first 5 tracks are very consistent and strong, and I really enjoyed the third track, Autumn Leaves. Excellent song. Towards the end of the cd there is a little bit of filler, maybe just two songs. But then Intencity clocks in and is the second or third strongest track on the album. Overall, its a great album and unfortunatley I cannot same the same for the dvd portion. The video for Extacy is lackluster, and the Andre seems a little vain in having himself plastered all over the place. But overall, this is a great album.

The limited edition includes a bonus disc with the "Marrakech" video, which was shot in my home state, Colorado. It has a behind-the-scenes and interview with ATB himself, and re-mixes of "Marrakech". Included also is a trailer dubbed in German of "Mind Hunters" which features ATB's single "Marrakech". You also get a special code to his website fan club for the collaboration between ATB and Kai Tracid, Farrago, and their song "Union". ("The DJ in the Mix" Disc 1.)

As a person who enjoys mixing and working with music atb is nothing short of a god to me in that area not only is he an excelent DJ but his songs are full of melody.

With this CD ATB decided to do some things different such as going for a different sound then he has used in previous records (2 worlds, dedicated, Movin melodies...) he also decided to go with a differant singer. these two main changes have benifited the cd greatly giving a new feel to ATB's trance.

ATB you are a god

Completely amazing cd. I didn't know who ATB was before I bought the cd. I simply listened to all of the samples and loved it. What an awesome cd. You've got to check it out!
