Oh my god,
This review is from: The No-Spin Zone: Confrontations with the Powerful and Famous in America (Hardcover)
This is so horrible they should use it in interrogations at guantanamo and iraq with an arabic interpreter and those guys would break in seconds. Seriously I was amazed when I read this book. As an avid humanitarian, my very foundations were shook to the core and I actually went into isolation for a couple of weeks. I didnt know what to think, what to do. I thought "how can I go outside and socialise with strangers when there are people like Bill O'Reilly out there?" Thankfully I found a good therapist and I am slowly regaining my faith in humanity. Whatever you do dont buy this book, unless possibly as a gift for someone you really hate.

Ole Billy Boy is at it again!,
By
This review is from: The No Spin Zone: Confrontations with the Powerful and Famous in America (Paperback)
If you are an easily led moron, you may get a few chuckles out of this sorry excuse of a book. Billy boy basically regurgitates the popular opinions of the rest of conservative America. If you've heard Bush's most recent State of the Union address, then you are already familiar with the mindless, elite driven doggerel that exudes from the mouths of people like ole Billy boy. This book is worthless, it nearly caused the fire to go out in my woodstove when I tossed it in there. Just kidding, I actually didn't buy this piece of uninspiring propoganda. I don't know who in their right mind would even consider buying this worthless waste of a good tree. At least his radio show is only polluting the airwaves. I have some advice for ole Billy boy: Save the trees for Vonnegut's books, you suck.

Definately Unbalanced,
By
This review is from: The No-Spin Zone: Confrontations with the Powerful and Famous in America (Hardcover)
The arguments in his book, though well structured, are HIGHLY biased, largely by his neoconservatism. They rely too much on made-up facts. And once those are cleared up by consulting dependable sources (i.e. not FAUX news), they are seen for the nutcase arguments they are. O'Reilly is hypocritical and unreliable, and I literally threw the book in the trash after I read it.

Terrible,

This review is from: The No-Spin Zone: Confrontations with the Powerful and Famous in America (Hardcover)
I have read this book from cover to cover, and I got as many laughs out of reading it as George Bush's speech writer must get from putting "misunderestimated" in GWB's speeches. One of the few positive reviews was this one Okay, so let me get this straight, we are supposed to buy a book because it is well reviewed by a member of the ku klux klan and Bill O'Reilly 1000 times under different names. Well, I must say it is quite a read, although I would not reccomend it for those with a weak heart; this book is painful to the eyes, and may cause serious damage to the internal organs such as the brain.

Goebbels would love Mr O'Reilly,
By
This review is from: The No Spin Zone: Confrontations with the Powerful and Famous in America (Paperback)
O'Reilly is just another fascistic hack, pretending to be a brave, nonconforming, independent-minded hero taking on the mighty. In the real world (not the Fox world), he is just another sycophant, toadying up to the real powers of capital and empire. Whenever the media businesses hype a writer or presenter as 'talking from the hip', you know that really he is talking out of his a***. Just like Thatcher's toady Bernard Ingham, or Murdoch's mouthpiece Andrew Neil, or establishment 'historians' Niall Ferguson, David Starkey and Simon Schama, they puff themselves as radical free-thinking spirits, while all the while parroting the state's conventional wisdom and pocketing their loot. O'Reilly is part of the Fox lie machine that lied to you that Saddam organised 9/11, that Saddam had WMD.

Utter garbage...,
By icekweem "Joseph" (Los Angeles/Manila/Seoul) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The No-Spin Zone: Confrontations with the Powerful and Famous in America (Hardcover)
Up to now, the only things Bill O'Reilly have ever been good at are weak-minded thought manipulation and noise pollution, but now he has another box to tick off on his resume: he can write humor. Unintentional humor, that is. You see, the garbage that is "The No-Spin Zone: Confrontations with the Powerful and Famous in America" proves that even on the page, Bill O'Reilly shines through as a complete hypocrite, and a horrible, horrible writer. It's so bad it's funny. Or it would be funny if people didn't actually listen to and believe this man.
You can see it in print as clearly as on his shows: this guy pulls words out of the mouths of the people he interviews; he bullies them with his stupid questions that are engineered to cater to his own views... And he is never after the truth, because the truth is a gray area and he only sees in black and white. Because he grew up rich and went to a boys' private Catholic school, he likes to think of himself as some kind of supreme arbiter over everyone. People like him are the reason many people think of the USA a "bratty teenager of a country". If you are looking for a book that is "Fair and balanced", this is most definitely not it. And really, I am not overly into politics, but I know that by supporting this travesty of a man and his pushy attitude the United States of America is sending the world the wrong kind of message.

Bill O'Reilly=possibly the greatest mind in America,
By Mark Twain "HFTS" (Texas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The No-Spin Zone: Confrontations with the Powerful and Famous in America (Hardcover)
The sole purpose of this review is to lambast the moron who ACTUALLY said "Thanks, Bill, for showing us how biased mainstream media can be...blah blah blah blah..." or something along that line. Bill O'Reilly's show appears on possibly the most biased piece of media in existence (other than my hometown newspaper): FOX News. I wouldn't believe FOX News if they told me that I was sitting on my couch eating Doritos even if I was. I wouldn't believe most news programs in general. Think for yourselves, people, just like Bill tells you to. But Bill's telling you to do that, so you're not really thinking for yourselves...what a paradox. Isn't it great that Bill "sticks to his guns," just like good ol' Dubya? Isn't that kind of a "redneck" nickname anyways? Personally, I would be rather embarrassed if my supporters "supported" me by sporting a button with that name on it. Anyways, Bush always sticks to his side, never changing it. He goes down with the ship, there's no attempt to try to save his miserable plans, he sticks with them to show how loyal and consistent he is. Isn't it a good idea to try something else if one idea does not work? You'd think it would be obvious, especially to someone who is (sarcasm on) very smart, because he has obtained the office of President of the United States very fairly. Bush was also the Governor of Texas! He must practically be a genius! (sarcasm off). Oh wait, I forgot. Whoever has the most cattle gets elected. Sorry for the slip-up.
I am rather "left" as the review below states...but I don't believe 9/11 was Bush's fault. I don't think he actually called up Bin Laden and said "Hey, why don't you send a couple guys over to take down some buildings, then we can have a sleepover and cuddle while we watch FOX." I think he could have done a better job handling it, especially with the information it has been said that he had prior to 9/11. Who else thinks Bill's favorite phrase, "fair and balanced," is preaching to the choir? Practice what you preach, Bill. I would burn Bill's book and soak in the warmth of the flames in the middle of the desert; it would be worth it. Bill's book is possibly the most disgustingly biased pieces of literature(if it can even be called that) to ever come out in print. It almost makes me wish the printing press had never been invented, just so Bill's book could not subvert and brainwash millions of people. As the review below states, "America is going downhill fast. I love America, but I lose faith in Americans." Well, at least this moron said something that makes sense. America and everything it stands for is beautiful. But people have been corrupted, either by stupidity or general ignorance/laziness. People are too lazy to figure things outfor themselves; they just accept what FOX tells them. Think there's a connection between rednecks being Republican and FOX being on basic cable? I would have to guess that there is, because these rednecks most likely do not have extended cable, and are subjected solely to the babbling inconsistencies presented by FOX. This book can be summed up in seven words: a partisan and slanted piece of trash.

Typical O'Reilly Sensationalism,

This review is from: The No-Spin Zone: Confrontations with the Powerful and Famous in America (Hardcover)
All I can say about this book is this -
It is no different than his one-sided slant on his radio show and television show. It is about him, his opinions and as usual he never really provides accurate information from the other side of the fence. It does not matter if you are conservative, moderate, or liberal, facts are facts and they should be presented clearly and honestly. I used to be one of the cult members that believed O'Reilly was what America needed. It sickens me now to think of how much time I wasted on him and his lies. Well, America has had too much and it is time for America to throw up from the indigestion of O'Reilly. |
