5.0 out of 5 stars Eye-Opening Book
My husband purchased this book for me as a gift. I read the book in one night because I couldn't put it down. It was simply captivating, direct and humerous at times. The book opened my eyes to many things that are wrong with governmental policies, politics and charitable organizations. O'Reilly is truly a "Crusader for the Common Man." I can't wait for the...

You knew this clown was like Mount St. Helens about to blow.

Now it's happened. Kaboom! I am already enjoying watching you suffer through the humiliating accusations. Another (very) creepy conservative bites the dust over sexual deviance. Wave career bye byes creepy, creepy conservative clown.

1.0 out of 5 stars Oh my god, August 27, 2004
This is so horrible they should use it in interrogations at guantanamo and iraq with an arabic interpreter and those guys would break in seconds. Seriously I was amazed when I read this book. As an avid humanitarian, my very foundations were shook to the core and I actually went into isolation for a couple of weeks. I didnt know what to think, what to do. I thought "how can I go outside and socialise with strangers when there are people like Bill O'Reilly out there?" Thankfully I found a good therapist and I am slowly regaining my faith in humanity. Whatever you do dont buy this book, unless possibly as a gift for someone you really hate.

1.0 out of 5 stars Ole Billy Boy is at it again!, February 12, 2004
By
If you are an easily led moron, you may get a few chuckles out of this sorry excuse of a book. Billy boy basically regurgitates the popular opinions of the rest of conservative America. If you've heard Bush's most recent State of the Union address, then you are already familiar with the mindless, elite driven doggerel that exudes from the mouths of people like ole Billy boy. This book is worthless, it nearly caused the fire to go out in my woodstove when I tossed it in there. Just kidding, I actually didn't buy this piece of uninspiring propoganda. I don't know who in their right mind would even consider buying this worthless waste of a good tree. At least his radio show is only polluting the airwaves. I have some advice for ole Billy boy: Save the trees for Vonnegut's books, you suck.

1.0 out of 5 stars Definately Unbalanced, February 4, 2004
The arguments in his book, though well structured, are HIGHLY biased, largely by his neoconservatism. They rely too much on made-up facts. And once those are cleared up by consulting dependable sources (i.e. not FAUX news), they are seen for the nutcase arguments they are. O'Reilly is hypocritical and unreliable, and I literally threw the book in the trash after I read it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible, March 9, 2004
By
ben (Cambridge, UK) - See all my reviews
I have read this book from cover to cover, and I got as many laughs out of reading it as George Bush's speech writer must get from putting "misunderestimated" in GWB's speeches.

One of the few positive reviews was this one
"This book is a shining example of how most america does not understand the genious of that of bill o'rielly. not only is this book fascinating and informative,it is an expample of what us white supremiscits need. I know that all the other KKK members in our area around here in alabama have all read it and enjoyed it."

Okay, so let me get this straight, we are supposed to buy a book because it is well reviewed by a member of the ku klux klan and Bill O'Reilly 1000 times under different names.

Well, I must say it is quite a read, although I would not reccomend it for those with a weak heart; this book is painful to the eyes, and may cause serious damage to the internal organs such as the brain.

1.0 out of 5 stars Goebbels would love Mr O'Reilly, October 14, 2004
By
William Podmore (London United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
O'Reilly is just another fascistic hack, pretending to be a brave, nonconforming, independent-minded hero taking on the mighty. In the real world (not the Fox world), he is just another sycophant, toadying up to the real powers of capital and empire. Whenever the media businesses hype a writer or presenter as 'talking from the hip', you know that really he is talking out of his a***. Just like Thatcher's toady Bernard Ingham, or Murdoch's mouthpiece Andrew Neil, or establishment 'historians' Niall Ferguson, David Starkey and Simon Schama, they puff themselves as radical free-thinking spirits, while all the while parroting the state's conventional wisdom and pocketing their loot. O'Reilly is part of the Fox lie machine that lied to you that Saddam organised 9/11, that Saddam had WMD.

1.0 out of 5 stars Utter garbage..., August 31, 2005
By
icekweem "Joseph" (Los Angeles/Manila/Seoul) - See all my reviews
Up to now, the only things Bill O'Reilly have ever been good at are weak-minded thought manipulation and noise pollution, but now he has another box to tick off on his resume: he can write humor. Unintentional humor, that is. You see, the garbage that is "The No-Spin Zone: Confrontations with the Powerful and Famous in America" proves that even on the page, Bill O'Reilly shines through as a complete hypocrite, and a horrible, horrible writer. It's so bad it's funny. Or it would be funny if people didn't actually listen to and believe this man.

You can see it in print as clearly as on his shows: this guy pulls words out of the mouths of the people he interviews; he bullies them with his stupid questions that are engineered to cater to his own views... And he is never after the truth, because the truth is a gray area and he only sees in black and white. Because he grew up rich and went to a boys' private Catholic school, he likes to think of himself as some kind of supreme arbiter over everyone. People like him are the reason many people think of the USA a "bratty teenager of a country". If you are looking for a book that is "Fair and balanced", this is most definitely not it. And really, I am not overly into politics, but I know that by supporting this travesty of a man and his pushy attitude the United States of America is sending the world the wrong kind of message.

1.0 out of 5 stars Typical O'Reilly Sensationalism, September 27, 2004
By
SBJ400 "SBJ400" (Mt. Laurel, NJ USA) - See all my reviews
All I can say about this book is this -

It is no different than his one-sided slant on his radio show and television show. It is about him, his opinions and as usual he never really provides accurate information from the other side of the fence.

It does not matter if you are conservative, moderate, or liberal, facts are facts and they should be presented clearly and honestly.

I used to be one of the cult members that believed O'Reilly was what America needed. It sickens me now to think of how much time I wasted on him and his lies. Well, America has had too much and it is time for America to throw up from the indigestion of O'Reilly.
