Teary...,
By
This review is from: No Tears For Teary (Paperback)
NO TEARS FOR THE TEARY by Lisa Cushenberry is a story of 13 year-old Tearston Olivia Rachael McCain or otherwise known as Teary. Teary is not your average 13 year-old girl, she lives in a beautiful castle, where sorceresses and enchanters are common and where she plays among the gypsies. Teary is spoiled beyond your wildest imagination. Anything she wants, Teary gets. Unfortunately, Teary's parents begin to realize the error of their ways by giving in to Teary, with all of her childish tantrums and rude outbursts. Legend has it that the river that flows near the castle are the tears from Teary.
On her 13th birthday, Teary overhears a conversation between her parents and Sorceress Faedra about how they feel that Teary is spoiled and that she needs to be taught a lesson. Sorcery may be the only way to change Teary's spoiled and hateful ways. Soon after hearing this conversation, Teary flees on her horse to the mountains to be with her friends, the gypsies. Teary will learn that everything she once knew has all been a lie. Will she change her ways? Or will all the trickery and lies make her worse? NO TEARS FOR THE TEARY by Lisa Cushenberry was a nice little story. I felt if the story would have been developed more, it would have definitely had the potential to be a five-star read. It lacked detail and the story was not as exciting or engaging as I would have liked. I would have really liked to see more background of the parents and of a younger Teary. I also wanted to know why the parents felt they had go to such drastic measures. All in all this was a pretty good read for all age groups to enjoy. The story line is captizating, it really draws you in and makes you want more. I'm sure than anyone who reads it will want to know the same thing - What Next!! This is going to be a great story to share with pre-teens, parents and seniors. I intend to share this book with friends and family. Tell the author...Great job No Tears For Teary |
