This is one of my favorite cd's!!!,

This review is from: No Turning Back (Audio CD)
I really appreciate this cd and the way it speaks to everyone. It is a good substitute for some secular music that even non-christians can enjoy. If you like groups like 'N Sync, Backstreet Boys, and TLC, I would recommend it to you for a christian influence. It is a good tool for witnessing and gives a good impression of cc music. The songs have a great beat and great words and meanings that really speak to you and praise the Lord!!

On Out Of Eden's first album (1994's 'Lovin The Day'), the ladies sounded like they were having a blast spreading their good message. OOE's second project (1996's 'More Than You Know') was a decidedly more intense affair; while it didn't hold itself together as well as the first album did, standout tracks like "Get To Heaven" and "It's Me" more than made up for it. Then in 1999, OOE returned with 'No Turning Back', and the confidence displayed here is unmistakable. "Looking For Love" starts things right, with an upbeat sound and a poigniant message (as always). Featuring a guest rap by Gotee labelmate Knowdaverbs, the sound of "Looking For Love" was slightly ahead of its time, resembling singles that both *NSync and Imx would cut months later. Keeping the upbeat feel of the album going, we're taken into "River", a happy-sounding song. An early highlight of the album would have to be "Spirit Moves", which also has a remix on DJ Maj's 'Full Plates Mixtape 002' album released in 2001 - this song is slammin. "Here's My Heart" is one of the best OOE ballads of all time. Featuring pop/R&B group the Katinas (also on Gotee Records), this song sounds heavenly (pun intended), and the vocals are top notch. "Window" is a decent uptempo, but "If You Really Knew" is the real winner -- it reminds me of the vibe that was heard on 1994's 'Lovin The Day', just updated. The message, music, harmony, and lyrics of "If You Really Knew" blend together really well to create a song that epitomizes the amazing spirit that OOE represents. "If You Really Knew" is my favorite song on this album. "Tomorrow" is another steady uptempo cut, but "Open Up Your Heart" is OOE at their best. Featuring a beautiful spanish guitar, sparse percussion, and a stunning vocal performance by Lisa Kimmey (who both wrote and produced the song by herself!), "Open Up Your Heart" is a powerful testimony to the musical gift that has been bestowed upon OOE. The mellow sounds continue on "Draw You Near", and then we hear "No Turning Back" an uptempo cut that sounds as confident as its name. Some albums include those songs that seem to come out of left field; and on "No Turning Back', OOE delivers one of those in the form of "Sara Jane". Featuring a twinge of UK-influenced jungle beats, "Sara Jane" is about the horrible plight faced by young people without guidance, insisting that "we", the listener can "make a difference". I haven't heard social concern on a record like this since Janet Jackson's 'Rhythm Nation 1814'. Closing the album on a disturbingly open-ended note, "Sara Jane" seems to say "you've heard the problem, now it's up to you to do something about it..." C.H.R.

One of contemporary Christian music best cd's for 1999,

These three sisters are on hit and truly talented! It's been a long while since Out of Eden's -"No turning back" that I've been able to give cd's as gifts and have the recipients truly pleased with my selection. Soulfully blending their voices to stir the inner soul to praise and glorify God with "yeses" and "thank you Jesus" on tracks as such- Draw you near. (I'm most partial to this track) I knew I found an excellent choice in music that I had to share with others in my life. Upbeat and on point is the remaining tracks on "No turning back"; my other favorites: Window, Looking for love and River. Safe to say that most of us Out of Eden fans knew of their talents from "Loving the day" and "More than you know". If your looking for a gift to give a young adult for the holidays, birthday, or just because-- Out of Eden's- No turning back is an exceptional choice.

Fabulous R&B/Soul Christian Group!,

Out of Eden's No Turning Back is the third Christian R&B album release from Gotee Records. The vocals are made up of three talented sisters-Lisa Kimmey Bragg, Andrea Kimmey Baca and Danielle Kimmey. Most of the songs are written by Lisa Kimmey unless otherwise noted. The album focuses on finding the perfect love, the presence of God's joy, God's call to the lonely and troubled, overcoming life's battles and the nearness of His Touch is as close as your heart.

For those of you who like the sound of secular groups such as TLC, Blaque, Cleopatra or 702, you will love Out of Eden. They have a hiphip/pop sound and great voices. The song "Lookin For Love" has a good messege. I really love this CD, especially the first three tracks. Out of Eden has a nice soulful sound and this CD is great for teenage girls who like secular sounds and are looking for a Christian hiphop girl group.

These girls are the best! I have their other two albums. This one is probably the best! I can't wait until they're fourth album comes out in January 23, 2002. The numbers beside the song titles are the number of stars I give each song.LOOKIN FOR LOVE 5/5 - This song starts off the album with a strong meaning and cool beats. My second favorite. RIVER 4/5 - This song repeats the the chorus way too much. But overall the song is great! SPIRIT MOVES 4/5 - This song has a very different sound from anyother on the album. Very cool meaning. It's a very cool song. HERE'S MY HEART 5/5 - This song is my third fav. The way the Katinas play God and OOE play the person calling on God. Very good song! WINDOW 3/5 - This song sounds a lot like "Tomorrow" and the same with "Window". They are both great songs with repitious choruses at the end of each song. IF YOU REALLY KNEW 5/5 - This was the first song I ever heard from OOE then I bought their records. Very good meaning. Great song. TOMORROW 3/5 - OOE created a good meaning. Though have sung the chorus over and over again. This song is good anyway. Don't skip it! OPEN UP YOUR HEART 5/5 - I love this song! Very Spanish with the guitar at the beginning. Awesome meaning...all of the songs do!! DRAW YOU NEAR 5/5 - My fav track on the album. It really touched my with the meaning I could relate to. I love it! NO TURNING BACK 4/5 - Lots of rapping. I have the Grits album it's great. It's not the rapping, the sound and the song just doesn't go together. It's just weird. But a very joyful happy song. SARAH JANE 5/5 - This song is the best besides "Draw You Near". The meaning is very strong and a turn for Lisa rapping. She does it well too! Seeing she wrote the song. Great sad song!

No Turning Back, the third album for sister trio Out Of Eden is their best ever. The vibe of the album is very urban with a twist of CCM. If you like Virtue Out Of Eden is the group for you. The album starts with the up beat "Lookin' For Love", which features Gospel rapper Knowdaverbs. Then the album continues into the upbeat "River" and "Spirit Moves". After this is the beautiful "Here's My Heart", which features CCM boy group The Katinas. Then comes the 'disco-esque' joint, "Window" and the smooth "If You Really Knew". Then the bright and bubbly "Tomorrow",. Then the album slows down into "Open Up Your Heart" and the guitar laden "Draw You Near" and speeds up again into the title track "No Turning Back". Then ends on the thought provoking "Sarah Jane", which is a commentary on how Christians deal with the world around them. Altogether, this album gets a definite 5 from me!
