Christian Book-NOT!,
By A.W. Christian Reviewer "A.W. Christian Reviewer" (Chicago, IL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: No Weapons Formed Against Me (Paperback)
I am truly disappointed by this book. This book is a poor example of Christian behavior! Oftentimes the characters cursed and in the next sentence they referenced God! They cursed, fornicated, shacked, drinked, partied like the world--you name it, the Blackman family did it!! What's the message here? A major disturbing episode was, the shacking of Jaszmine and Taylor, after which Jaszmine stated that she knows morally living together before marriage is wrong, but she wasn't sure of God's point of view. What!! The devil is a lie!! Secondly, Zaria, the pastor, stated on several occassions that she didn't mean to be judgmental towards her family. Wake up!! When you see the outpouring of sin, there is no need to be judgmental! Sin speaks for itself!! Finally, I would like to ask Ms. Pierce what is her definition of Christianity, as what was displayed in this novel is SCARY!! If this is the style of Ms. Pierce, count me out. I will not read another novel, unless I decide to read a typical worldly book. In addition to the above, the story was very predictable. Saints, if you really want to read a Christian novel, try "Promises Beyond Jordan."

When I saw the title of this book, I knew I had to read it. This is the scripture that has saved me throughout my walk with Christ. This is an excellent book. You will cry, laugh, and feel the pain and spirit of the Blackmans as they live. Rebecca Nails-Pierce is an excellent storyteller. Read this book and you won't be disappointed. You will be reminded of someone with every character in this books. They are real. I especially related to Zaria, the woman minister. God Bless you, Rebecca and I look forward to your next book.

This book was very fast paced, exciting and entertaining. It was a very family oriented book about love, being loved and wanting love. The Blackmans are a typical family with good morals. But each family member struggles with their own tribulations. I loved this book, because it dealt with everyday people who were making a living and wanting to be love and give love in return. What I really like about the book, is how the family was a close-knit family, that talked about there problems with each other. I give props to Rebecca Nails-Pierce. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it goes to show you, that no matter where you are with God, that God is always there by your side and he will bring you out of any situation. It was an uplifting book, that gave good scriptures and praises to God. I'm looking forward to Rebecca's next book. My favorite character was Taylor, I thought he was a little wild but exciting. I also liked Deja, she had problems with her ex, but soon she woke up and got her life together and found someone decent and godly. All the characters were well written, even Ms. Lilly. She was a meaniee, but she had a good heart. She loved her family and she truly did love her husband. I hate she had become sick, but through sickness it brought the family much closer. I won't tell all the story. This is a book, you will enjoy and it is an easy read too.

Since reading Temptation, I've changed by reading genre to more spiritual and family oriented novels, and this one did not let me down. This book is awesome. The characters are ordinary people just like us with the same stuggles that the devil throws at us and to know that"No Weapon Formed Against Shall Prosper" is all the determination we need to get us through anything.

Entertaining Inspiration,

This review is from: No Weapons Formed Against Me (Paperback)
I truly enjoyed this book. This was a novel about a family that many people can relate to. The main character faced many challenges as being the spiritual leader. It is a glimpse of what "having a calling" on your life is all about. Not every book is to minister to every person. It had very meaningful message. This type of a novel is an "out reach" tool. As Christians we have to realize that not everyone is going to "get it" if we beat them over the head with the Bible. Furthermore, when you are walking out your purpose, and I believe Ms. Nails-Pierce is, you are less inclined to judge so harsely (as one reviewer has). I applaud Ms. Pierce's efforts. Writing fiction that includes the Word of God is a mighty task. We need to get the Word out through various mediums and this is one of them. So, it may not be a witness tool for everyone, I am sure it has ministered or delivered someone. I am sure God wouldn't mind that at all. Stay encourage Rebecca, keep on writing!

Well done thy good and faithful servant! I'm sure God will speak those words to you one day for taking the time to bring some of his words and principles to the people. This book addressed all types of situations and sin that people encounter each and every day.The message in your book was plain and clear. This book will minister to the saved and the lost, the young and the old, single and married, male and female. Great job and I cant wait for the sequel.

This is an excellent way to reach the lost. Jesus said he came to seek those that are lost. If you are in good health, then you don't need a physician. But if you are sick, then you do. Jesus came to heal the sick (especially the sin sick soul). Using profanity, sexual language is the way of the lost. You have to be wise to win them over. Beating them with scriptures will not conquer. There's a huge difference between writing profanity and speaking it. I believe the author of Beyond Jordan owes Ms. Pierce an apology. A Saint understands how to reach the lost and how to comfort other Saints, but a Christian has yet to learn and never coming into the knowledge of the truth. Hats off to "NWFAM."

This book was very interesting. The author keeps your attention as you live the lives of the Blackman family. You laughed and cried. Very realistic it can happen to your family. With all the issues they went through, they were able to continue to turn it over to God. That's why no weapon formed against me was so satisfying.
