This review is from: No Winners Here Tonight: Race, Politics, and Geography in One of the Country's Busiest Death Penalty States (Law Society & Politics in the Midwest) (Paperback)
Not knowing much pertaining to Ohio's capital punishment laws, I was surprised of the outcomes of numerous trials depending on what area of the state the trial took place. This book not only gives a detailed look at the history of capital punishment in Ohio but also gives an excellent account of specific cases. What was most intriguing to me about the book was the amount of details including interviews with judges, lawmakers, victim's family, prison personnel, etc. I was amazed to hear some of the comments and opinions of those so close to the case. By the way, both sides of the capital crimes discussed in the book seem to be very fairly presented. In my opinion, it's an excellent educational book that should be read regardless of your stance on Capital Punishment.
