The best Brickman has to offer,
By A Customer
This review is from: No Words (Audio CD)
This is still the best that Brickman has to offer. The sound of this album is exactly what the cover says - piano solos. He really throws his heart into the songs.I have a number of his works (as well as other solo pianists) but still regard this as my favorite. Get it - you won't be sorry.

Music to browse the net by, cuddle up with a lover to, or mellow out on a Sunday morning with... Very restful and soothing but sometimes sad due to the many minor keys evident. An album which will calm you down, build your optimism and subconsciously help you to take stock. 'No Words' says it all.

If you would have told me last year that I would own an album of piano solos I probably would have laughed in your face. While I enjoy several kinds of music, most of my favorites are in the classic rock and alternative genres. The reason I bought this is my wife and I are having a baby in December and our birthing class instructor played and reccomended Brickman as a popular choice for relaxation music and her personal favorite. I bought "No Words" and "Simple Things" mainly for their absence of singing and something to play while she is in labor. I have been listening to them nearly every night since we received them while browsing the internet or doing chores around the house. It really is amazing music that is very calming and relaxing. He definitely pours everything he has into his piano and the accompanying instruments and background is fabulous. Everything everyone else has stated in their reviews is right on as well. I would definitely reccomend not only this CD but Jim Brickman in general if you are looking for a nice relaxing getaway!

If you enjoy solo piano recordings that convey heart and soul, this is for you. I now have every Jim Brickman recording and still consider this my favorite. There is so much emotion simply conveyed through his compositions.

Definately music to destress by. I can be really stressed but when I put on this cd while I am reading a book or searching the internet it instantly starts to sooth calm and relax me. It uplifts my spirit and makes me feel as though things aren't as bad as they seem to be.

My favorite Jim Brickman CD,

I really like Jim Brickman's music, and I like his non-vocal work the best. That's why I like "No Words," as there are no words to get in the way of his piano playing.
Is his music for all occasions? No, but it's great for relaxing or for having in the background while you're trying to concentrate on other things. That's probably why I like the non-vocal songs the best. My daughters also use his music to fall asleep at night. When we're on car trips and they get tired, my youngest always asks for the "nighttime music" which consists of Jim Brickman's "Love Songs & Lullabies" and "No Words." This CD was unavailable for a while, but it's back and at a very economical price. If you like piano music that is a little easier to relax to than George Winston, this should suit your tastes just fine!

At Ease In America,

This caught me by surprise when I listened to it. Jim Brickman is a prolific musician whose work has darted in and out of the Naw Age category for more years than I care to remember. For some reason I had written him off as overly syrupy and sentimental, and simply stopped being interested in his work. A lot of his work is vocal, or intentionally romantic. While I like the New Age genre, I don't care all that much for New Age lyrics. These are, to say the least, predictable. This album is something else entirely. As you can tell from the title, this is all solo piano work. While still not incredibly original (I think I counted 5 variations on the 'You Are The Wind Beneath My Wings' theme, etc.) the music is very pleasant and nicely played. While I wouldn't call it a demonstration of blazing pianism (pianistry?) it's the kind of album one plays over and over because it sounds good. Which is as good a reason as any to like something. No surprise, Brickman's playing relies heavily on melody and accompaniment. Pace is easy going, and you will occasionally find yourself humming along. These still are songs, just without voice. Particular favorites for me as 'Rocket to the Moon,' which sounds nothing like it's title, and 'Heartland,' which does. As I said, highly listenable throughout and at a very good price.

This cd defines "easy listening". I listen to this when I am doing computer work because it relaxes me and sets the mood for tranquility. I accomplish more that way. And when I just listen...... it's wonderful!!

I just love Jim Brickman's music! I have every CD he has made and this is my all time favorite. Sometimes you just want gentle music in the background and no words to interupt your concentration and this is my CD of choice for those quiet days. When I am listening to No Words I am usually doing some serious quilting! If I could only have one CD this would be my choice!
