More About the Author
Dreams are beautiful things, though; they never quite disappear. I began writing again, editing, writing, editing...more editing... and now I have over a hundred books in progress and a few dozen published. I write the stories of fictional people who have real problems, weaknesses, and triumphs. Through their stories, I try to share the Hope that is within me."
Chautona lives in a small, remote town in California's Mojave Desert with her husband and seven of her nine children. When not writing, she enjoys paper crafting, sewing, and the knowledge that someday she'll be able to retire from home education.

While, Mrs. Havig's writing style is a little different than what I normally would choose, she definitely doesn't leave the reader unsatisfied. Yes, it is a romance story and was soft and very sweet, but I love that the main male character steps outside of societal norms, and goes looking for what he wants in a woman...and doesn't accept the the practice of dating as the world sees it.
My philosophy is `too many books, too little time.' So, I rarely reread books. This one, however, is one of the few that I have. Any book that can make me go back for a second read will always have a spot on my favorite list.
I can't wait to read what Mrs. Havig produces next!
The leading man, Nolan, really wants a wife, and it's really no surprise that he isn't attracted to the caricatures of desperate women that live in his city. They hit on him at business meetings, which I found very unrealistic since I doubt any professional would act so tacky while doing business. So he moves and meets Grace, who despite earning a graduate degree in physics chooses to stay home, babysit, and work on various projects. While I respect anyone, woman or man, who chooses to tend to their home, there is really never any explanation of why Grace decided on this after going through all the trouble of studying physics, so that was unrealistic point number 2 for me. I did like that Grace was very entrepreneurial and took on projects like sewing and making jam to make money, and I thought this could've been a great way to show that we can all make a decent living doing what makes us happy, but throughout the book everyone is always worried about Grace not being able to make ends meet, so clearly she isn't making a decent living. So much for an original, refreshing, concept, it's the typical woman NEEDS a man scenario, and to top it off man hates assertive women (these don't really exist in the book, though, you are either demure or completely forward and tacky).Read more ›

There were a lot of grammatical and punctuation errors, making it difficult to read. I had to re-read several ideas or points to try and make sense of the story. Read morePublished 28 days ago by Daniel Boatright
Such a good book. Loved the characters. I was challenged in my walk with Christ by what I read. Thanks Chautona!Published 5 months ago by Nanny Nita
Kept waiting for some tragedy or drama and it never happened. There was never a climax to the story. I know it's a Christian novel, but life is never this perfect.Published 6 months ago by Jody
Grace considers herself "one of the guys" and never considers that she will have a romantic interest outside of her abundant love for Jesus Christ. Read morePublished 7 months ago by Amazon Customer
I didn't care much for this book. Characters were a little unbelievable to me. I almost stopped reading it in the middle. Not much of a storyline for me. Just not my type of bookPublished 10 months ago by SueC
It is nice to see a beautifully written book about real love and how it is supposed to be. Also, how family is important in our lives.Published 12 months ago by Heidi Thimmesch
This book has a cute story line. Some characters could use a bit more depth to them, but the main characters are built up decently. Read morePublished 14 months ago by Charity Arkauskas
I really loved this book. I enjoyed the way the author used faith as a way of life not just something to preach or talk about. Read morePublished 15 months ago by Lynette A.
