2.0 out of 5 stars Not enough details
This book lack of details and its pure focus on the gilman street scene for almost half the book should be noted. The book fastforwarded everything that happened there after, including details about each album. After I read Spitz biography about Bowie I was just expecting more.

Those who like Green Day and would like to take a peek into their lives, fame, and stress, will absolutely without a doubt eat this novel up. It isnt boring, and very insightful. I recommend it greatly.

While the career of Green Day is not lengthy compared to many rock lengends, I found "Nobody Likes You" to be a cohesive and thorough account of their lives and careers to date. Marc Spitz has again successfully delved into the economic background and times that shaped these young men into one of the best punk rock bands of modern times.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Words I Might Have Ate!, January 27, 2012
I love Nobody Likes You!!! The way I read this fantastic book was almost like I was consuming every word, I might have even swallowed some quotes! The way the author describes and introduces Green Day in the book always puts me in awe! Plus, the book is dedicated "To suburban punks everywhere", which is completely appropriate and meaningful for a Green Day book. I love to re-read it; it never gets old. Buying Nobody Likes You was a great investment and I would never regret buying it, and neither should you!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Long time Green Day Fan, October 30, 2007
For years I have enjoyed Green Day's lyrics, punk rock mentality, and original sound they carry from 1000 hours through to American Idiot. Upon the release of American Idiot and their worldwide tour, I wanted to know everything I could about their development and psychology that goes into their particular brand of madness. This book had everything I could have possibly wanted to know and more. I feel like I'll always appreciate their contribution to human society as a whole. Thanks to Marc for writing this book.

I read this book in less than a week, between my college, job and soccer trains. As a Green Day fan, I loved!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Good Read, February 15, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I enjoyed reading this book. It gives a lot of insight into the members of the band and their growth through their career to the present. Informative and factual, as far as I can tell. This book has made me more appreciative of their music and why they write and play it. I glad to see that they are having the times of their lives.

This was a really good biography on the Green Day band members. It was very interesting to know the members' backgrounds and where some of the songs came from. The "book" was difficult to put down.

This review is from: Nobody Likes You: Inside the Turbulent Life, Times, and Music of Green Day (Paperback)
Great Book by Mark Spitz. It's so easy to read is like you're actually talking to the people involved in the story. And what a story. I've been a fan of Green Day for 18 years. I knew that their their past was troubled, but it was never presented to me as well as in this book. read the whole thing in only a few hours. Great Read.
