My Name Is Nobody may not be as well known as The Good The Bad and The Ugly or other pasta westerns scored by the great Ennio Morricone, but it is just as good.

Actually, this is not far off in sound from man of his 1960s cowboy soundtracks you know--it has the same haunting choruses of voices, and the creepy dark landscapes, some of which sound like ambient music. Brilliant.

But the highlight is absolutely the title track, which works fantastically as 1960s pop. To me, this whistle-along is cut as amazing as Paul McCartney at his most melodic. Play "Fool On The Hill," then "My Name Is Nobody," back to back

funny semi parody of spaghetti westerns with much of the outdoor filming being done within New Mexico. (white sands, Acoma (the sky city) and what looks like Ciboyetta (Seboyetta) and Mogollon. Fun and quality music. Henry Fonda plays it straight. Nobody is a nobody with skill. Music is both formal and whimsical

Over the years I have seen the majority of well know Westerns and Spaghetti Westerns at least. This movie is a favorite because of the lighthearted nature of the story and it pokes a little fun at the more serious Spaghetti Westerns. The music has both the gritty as in other movies Ennio Morricone did, but it also has some great light music as well. By far my favorite soundtrack of this genre.
