Recordings of Playford's country dances are very common. However, I found this to be one of the best of the 20 or 25 such cd's I have. I think the musicians involved took a great deal of trouble and expended a lot of skill and energy on this recording - and it shows!

I bought this to have some background music while I weave
at our floorloom. It was exactly what I wanted and
it's ended up being something I listen to often on my iPod
while at work. I know nothing about music, only that I seem
to be drawn to instrumental early music. I keep recommending
this to people along with "Fortune My Foe" by Les Witches.
