I read lots of BDSM fiction books(100+ probably) some i liked,some i didn't. This book is the only one i deemed necessary to write a review.

Since i read Masters at Arms a while ago i was waiting for this book.

All characters in the series are likable but Karla was my favorite since the moment i met her at the first book. For me, Kallypso really proved her Mastery as an Author with this book.

Unlike most BDSM romance books these days, this book is satisfyingly long and not one line goes to waste. 4$ is a very low prize for such quality art. I'd have paid 5 times as much without any regrets.

This is something i noticed when i read romance series. Most of the time after a few books in series characters starts to blur and merge and i start to feel like each book is just a copy of previous book with only names and places changed. Judith Mcnaught is a great example of this. I read 3 of her books. After that i decided if i wanted to i could easily write a fourth one by myself... There are a few variables in her books like names, places, time. They change with each book but everything else stays constant(even eye colors. In every book i read there was someone with grey eye).

Cherise Sinclaire's shadowlands series is also a little that way. While with each book heroines change, after first book i started to notice heroes weren't changing. Different names, different jobs, slightly different look(tho for whatever reason all the male leads are over 6 feet. Guess in order to be a member at shadowland you have to be longer then 6 feet :) but their personalities was pretty much the same. Fortunately it looks like she is gonna break the loop with her next book(with Master Sam).

Now with Kallypso Masters... each and every character in her series are completely unique in his or her own way. This is probably what i really like about her books because... let's face it if you are writing a BDSM novel there isn't much in the way of theme that you can choose from. Whatever you write it'll still be similar to some other book. There are tons of other books with BDSM club or man-in-uniform themes. What makes Rescue Me series better then others is her characters.

There are few good character creators in this genre like Annabel Joseph and Kitty Thomas. In my honest opinion Kallyoso Masters is in par with them if not even better.

TPE element at the begining of the book was very interesting. While i agree that it wouldn't be right with Karla and Adam i indeed hope later in the series we can read another TPE relationship.

BDSM plays in this book are heavier(and hotter) then previous books. I hope Kallypso will keep it that way in next books.

Only negative thing i can say about this book is... well it ends :)

PS:If you haven't read previous books yet; i strongly recommend to read them first. These books aren't standalone.

WOW! If you have not read this series, do yourself a favor and pick it up. If you like a tortured hero, and sometimes tortured heroine as well, with plenty of an emotional story along with your very hot sexy scenes, then this is the series for you.

I've been waiting for this story since book one when we get our first taste of Adam and who just then was a teenager, Karla. I thought this would put me off being that he is 25 years older than her and at that point he had just lost his wife to cancer, but by the end of book one I couldn't help but want these two to get together....badly!

Karla is now 25 years old and the singer at Master at Arms, the kink club that Adam owns. He's 50 now and he keeps telling himself to stay away, that she's just a kid. But things happen and their platonic relationship turns physical. *fans self* Ohhh the things I learned with this book! There's chains, rope (Adam is very good with rope), tying, hanging, and a lot more! Even what I now know as orgasm torture ;)

But it's not all roses between them. Adam has a lot in his past that he has to deal with. I don't expect him to resolve his issues in this one book because they're all major issues to have and to overcome but I can happily say he's taken that first step towards happiness.

Karla also learned that she can't just be Adam's slave but she has to be herself, which was all a learning experience for her and I think she's doing amazing dealing with this new lifestyle.

There's also a new development between Orlando and Savi. Oh the torture to wait for their book next!!! I can tell it'll be a tearjerker.

And speaking of tearjerkers, let me give you a warning about this book and please don't be like me and listen! My friend told me to have tissues ready while reading this. Of course I ignored that. I can honestly say I have not been reduced to a sobbing mess the way this book got me. I must've been crying for a half hour straight while reading it, let me tell you it wasn't pretty. But it was amazing!

You will fall in love with Adam, you will want to comfort him, please him and make him happy. And Karla is just the girl for the job, I couldn't help but be rooting for her the whole book. I cannot tell you how much I want to read the next book RIGHT NOW!!!

First I have to say this is a really excellent series. I absolutely love it and I'm looking forward to reading each wonderful story that is a part of it. Adam and Karla were introduced in Masters at Arms (Rescue Me) and got more "play" time (oh my I guess I'm with the punny-ness today lol) in Nobody's Angel (Rescue Me).

So let's get to it. What makes these books so fun and enjoyable? To start they are a series - and meant to be read that way. This means the author is not limited to developing the world and characters in one book only (with a small cameo in another). You should read the Masters at Arms book first and then move on from there. There is back story and explanation provided that make these characters rich, multi-faceted, and with extraordinary depth. You really do feel like you know them.

These are real folks with real problems - and those problems crop up and slap them (more punny!) in the face occasionally - they have to work for the relationship. Karla pushes the envelope to create the opportunity with Adam - and it's not always easy but it always moves forward.

And let's be honest - anyone who cannot see Gibbs from NCIS as Adam -- well I pity you because that man is on my list. Calm, cool, collected and hot as hades. The type of dominance that comes from within - not manufactured or arrogant. There is a little bit of communication issue that rolls into this one but not so much as to irritate. I thought the 24/7 TPE was interesting - and how Karla came to view it enlightening and absolutely bang on for her (this book is positively inspiring to me!)

If you read my review of Nobody's Angel I said the only issue I had with it was the lie. I am *extremely* happy to report the issue gets attention in this novel and gets dealt with - ramifications and repercussions I felt were needed were discussed and addressed - not completely resolved but that is at it should be as this would take time. Bravo!

The BDSM gets a little heavier here - though still fully in the consensual realm. The progression is growing - which excites me as I favor the S/m aspects and I can see them coming. It was more club based in the previous books -- this one spends little time there. However there is realism to be had here that is not always present in other BDSM novels - and the author's notes in the front were perhaps my favorite part of the novel. How fantastic to read that!

I did get a bit of a kick out of the San Diego pieces (having lived there myself for a very long time) - so that was a nice little trip down memory lane. Though I do have to say picturing Solana Beach as any sort of bad area was a huge stretch for me but its fiction and fun :)

Fans of Cherise Sinclair's Shadowlands series should run, not walk, and present themselves -- err I mean buy -- this series. *Wink* for the kink!
