3.0 out of 5 stars I LIKE JULIO
THE FIRST SONG ON THIS CD IS FANTASTIC. THE REST ARE RATHER MEDIOCRE. I LIKE THE "TANGO" ALBUM BETTER.

"Noche de Cuatro Lunas", is a fantastic new album by Mr. Julio Iglesias who recently released his 77th album to the world. What a way to start a new millenium and also the 31st year of this International singers career. So this album is very special. After many years, Mr. Igesias has picked up his magical pen, and with the help of his friends, Estefano, R. Blades and Robi Draco Rosa, has given his fans an album with thirteen songs that will all become classics. They are on their way to that status already. This album will give your soul a lift to heaven. The music will get the young and the old off their seats and onto their feet, dancing and singing.Mr. Julio Iglesias sings from the top of his head to the tips of his toes. He puts 1000% at each and every one of his live concerts. This album is one of those concerts, only you have the power to keep the music going when you put the album on your stereo and push the repeat button."Noche de Cuatro Lunas", is the result of the artist, Mr.Julio Iglesias, who is an artist in every sense of the word, being pleased with his latest creation and taking a chance to make this album so different from all the others that he has done before in his career. His fans are pleased as well with his latest endeavor as the sale of the album is climbing on the charts all over the world.I would recommend this album to everyone that enjoys Latin Music.

4.0 out of 5 stars Julio Iglesias--re-invented again!, August 6, 2000
This review is from: Noche De Cuatro Lunas (Audio CD)
With the release of his newest album, Julio has done it again! Just when you think he sings ballads, he does country (Crazy) ...when you think he does pop, he does Tango, now when he has you wondering what will come next, he does a combination of several styles. La Empalizada and Mamacita are upbeat, fun swinging Ranchero sounds envoking the sun drenched Caribbean shores. Gozar La Vida and Me Siento de Aqui are for Salsa dancing, Dia a Dia is for dreaming, Te Voy a Contar Mi Vida is for the ballad lovers, Seremos Libres and Noche de Cuatro Lunas are haunting.

Even though some people are superstitious about the number 13, the 13 new hits on this album are for everyone. We're lucky to have this newest musical gift from Julio Iglesias.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Julio Iglesias's NEW CD, June 22, 2000
This review is from: Noche De Cuatro Lunas (Audio CD)
It's good can hear Julio Iglesias singing in Spanish again. His current work "Noche de Quatro Lunas" has a deep and "caliente" soul. For Brazilian audience, Julio Iglesias has recorded a different version of "Noche de Quatro Lunas" as beautiful as the worldwide is. I think it's a great CD for every generations.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very pleasant surprise, July 1, 2002
This review is from: Noche De Cuatro Lunas (Audio CD)
I think a lot of Anglos are like me -- about the only song I knew by Julio Iglesias was that dopey duet he did with Willie Nelson many years ago. Nothing prepared me for the astonishing excellence of this album. The album moves smoothly from one song to the next, from one style to the next, and throughout Iglesias hypnotizes. He is so smooth, so darn cool, it just amazed me. This is the kind of album Bryan Ferry dreams of making. I don't speak Spanish so I don't understand the lyrics, but I surely understand the feelings which flow from every song on this superb disk.

5.0 out of 5 stars The very best!, June 24, 2001

This review is from: Noche De Cuatro Lunas (Audio CD)
Julio's most recent album always instantly becomes my favorite. "Noche de Cuatro Lunas" is a delight listening to, and I must say, this is a very surprising album. The instant you put the CD in the player and start listening to the lyrics, you immediately recognize this album as a Julio Iglesias album. Julio sounds sweet, songs go smoothly from one to another, each melody telling a different part of Julio's life, and Julio sings, as he always does, with grace. But if you were to compare this album with others in the past, this one has a different feel.

That's because Te Voy a Contar, a very Latin song, sounds like Caruso, Me Siento de Aqui reminds me of the upbeat and terrific Agua Dulce, Agua Sala, though ten times more powerful, Gozar la Vida Ricky Martinish (not as catchy as "Livin' la Vida Loca" but nonetheless somewhat different than what one would expect Julio would sing), and Seremos Libres a wonderful song which sounds like a club entertainer might sing at a bar in the wee hours of the morning. Noche de Cuatro Lunas, No Es Amor Ni Es Amor, and this last song I mentioned, have what I would deem a strong Anglo-Saxon feel, and a quick glance at the lyrics in the booklet reveal Julio as the author of both of these last two songs (though Seremos Libres, written by Alejandro Saenz, is not),

"Mal Acostumbrado", again, has a strong Brazilian feel (having been a great hit in Brazil several years ago) . Obviously, Julio gives his all in every song, though I think Julio gave a little more in this one. Again, it tells a story, the story is powerful, and again, Julio sounds graceful telling it.

The combination of songs and their arrangements on the CD ring like poetry, and of all of the albums of Julio's that I know of, this one is perhaps the most philosophical of them all. One has the feeling that Julio worked really hard on this particular work of art (as he so assiduously does in every endeavour of his), and his vocal interpretations of such well-known melodies as "Vida", "Empaliza" (a merengue), and "Muchachas" will only serve to further strengthen our belief that Julio is, truly, a musical genius of our time who nevertheless augments that talent with hard-work.

All in all, this album is a delight. It's Julio's best album to date, and it makes one think what the future has in store for Julio as an artist. Julio's at an age where his capacities are really starting to take off. Julio's promise to us to sing to us until the day he is no longer with us is a bright promise for us, for it will mean lots of hours, days, and years of listening to a singer that has entertained the world, and will continue to entertain all those who've had the pleasure of discovering a true musical genius of our time.

Julio Iglesias con este disco
explora un campo diferente; un
campo en el que no estamos acostumbrados
a escucharlo cantar, y aun asi mantiene
su clase y estilo. Un disco fantastico y
lleno de romanticismo

5.0 out of 5 stars BUY IT!, November 23, 2000

Forget the reviews of this album which warn you that this album is a departure for Julio and that you may not like it. If you like Julio, and you like latin music, you will love it. I do. Who wants every album to sound the same? This album has a nice variety - something for everyone. I especially like the high energy cuts. I saw Julio live from the second row recently and all the songs he did from this album were fantastic.

5.0 out of 5 stars a superb duet, and more..., October 10, 2000
This review is from: Noche De Cuatro Lunas (Audio CD)
This CD has the trademark Iglesias smooth sound and a Caribbean feel to its rhythms. It's slightly new territory for him, and I think he does it exceedingly well.

The best track for me is the wonderful duet with my #1 favorite, Alejandro Fernández, "Dos Corazones, Dos Historias", which is so beautiful. Their voices make an exquisite blend and for this alone I'd give this CD 5 stars. I only wish they had done more than one song together.

Other good selections include "Gozar la Vida" and "Me Siento de Aquí" which are both great dance tracks. Excellently written (a lot of it by Iglesias), this is a lovely CD and my favorite of his since "La Carretera"...and you get the one and only Alejandro as a bonus !

Enough has been about the artist and the album. I'd just like to endorse the songs "Corazon Partia" and "Vida". Julio Iglesias is at his best in these two lovely songs.

I know Julio is not everyone's cup of tea, but if you like his kind of music, which I do, you'll love this album. I do not like everything he has done, but Julio and the production team have really done themselves proud here. You won't be sorry you got it. Beautiful.
