4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent product
Excellent product. I just changed all my wheels (took of winter tires), and this made it easy. The torque control seems to work fine (I'm not sure how I'd actually check that it was correct though.. but it seemed consistent across all the wheels).

One thing I suggest, is get some paper towels, and put them over your wheel nut, before pushing the wrench onto...

1.0 out of 5 stars No good !!!
First, the increments are 50-60-70-80, etc ft/lbs which means, if you need 61 or 78 ft/lbs for instance, you can not have it.
Second, the display is invisible in daylight, I had to hide the daylight with my hand in order to be able to read the display.
Third, the torque feature does not work, I put 80 ft/lbs to tighten a wheel lug after what I couldn't loosen...

Excellent product. I just changed all my wheels (took of winter tires), and this made it easy. The torque control seems to work fine (I'm not sure how I'd actually check that it was correct though.. but it seemed consistent across all the wheels).

One thing I suggest, is get some paper towels, and put them over your wheel nut, before pushing the wrench onto the nut. This will protect your wheel nuts from scratches.
I found when I just used the wrench bare, it left scratches on my wheel nuts due to the force with which it was "hammering" them loose/tight. The paper towel solved the problem. Definitely not a reason not to purchase this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great impact wrench for emergency use, August 21, 2009
This review is from: Nocord Digital Torque Control Wrench DigiWrench WWT-1430
Tried the wrench today and worked 100%. Agree with the other review about protecting the lug nuts from scratches but that always happens with impact wrenches. Tried different torques as I tightened my lug nuts, then went back with a torque wrench set to a slightly higher target torque setting and the lug nuts did turn slightly before the torque wrench clicked. The impact wrench appears to be very accurate and I know it won't overtorque my lug nuts. The operation was a little wierd as the wrench spins up for a couple seconds before each "impact" so it is not as fast as an air powered impact wrench but it is great as an emergency wrench to keep in the car.

This is a great product. Produces enough torque when needed. Torque settings could be set when tightening lug nuts. Other cheaper models does not produce enough torque to remove lug nuts. Handy to have in a quick tire change. Some scissor jacks have a nut for the socket for this impact wrench to lift the car. Torque settings are digitally set by the push of a button. Don't waste your money on cheaper models that go only to 150ft-lbs. This torque wrench will go to 250ft-lbs.

This is an excellent portable torque wrench. It does just what it says. You must leave the unit for a few seconds on the lugs and It does a great Job putting them on or taking them off. I love It !!

An adjustable 12v impact wrench with a digital readout....whood'a thunk? Works perfectly although I'm not sure how accurate it is yet. My car manual says the nuts should be torqued to 140 ft-lb, so I used this tool to tighten them up to 120 ft-lb and used an accurate torque wrench to finish tightening them.

Not satisfied at all with this product.

2.0 out of 5 stars Great while it lasts, September 16, 2011

As the title says, this impact wrench worked well before it died on me. It's got plenty of torque and I found it to be pretty accurate. The idea is pretty cool and it's very convenient, I'm just upset it didn't last long. I used it about 10 times all together and now it just clicks when I turn it on. Take it as you want. Maybe I just had bad luck... If it doesn't break it is a great product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works better than expected, March 21, 2011

I have a "real" impact with a "real" compressor which delivers 1000 ft/lbs or so torque. So I expected not much from this wrench. Just for emergencies at night or so at the highway. But this thing popped the lug nuts off like it was loose already. Just in a few seconds. Plus it drilled them off completely after making them loose! With this tool a 3 year old can do it with ease!

I can't say anything about endurance quality though, but I guess it should work for a couple of tires if an emergency happens at the highway. As I do not expect an emergency to happen often, it should last for 10+ years. That's a below 10 bucks rate per year. If my emergence should happen, I do not have to wait for anybody. I can just pull that tool out and change the tire in a few minutes without jumping on the tool or hard work. If my emergency will not happen, even better. Plus I intend to use it for any torque settings at the garage if needed. For heavy work I still have my real impact. ;)

The only design flaw ist really this LED display where you can see nothing if you do not cover it with your hand and even then it is hard to read. But well, you get the feeling of those early days of electronic consumer equipment. Say led watch. ;)

Just one hint: Always let the engine run, because it delivers the power what you need. Just a battery might be not enough and who wants to get a problem with jump starting after a tire change?

Another hint: Be careful with the socket and put it completely on the nuts.

Regarding the noise comments from others: This is an impact wrench and not a soft ball. What noise would you expect if you would take a hammer and put a nail in the wall? Impact means the same noise. Hope this helps. ;)
