  • Measuring only 14mm in thickness, the NF-A9x14 is much slimmer than standard 92x25mm fans. This makes it ideal for all applications where standard fans would take up too much space, such as low profile CPU coolers in HTPC builds or server environments.
  • The NF-A9x14 impeller features suction side Flow Acceleration Channels. By speeding up the airflow at the crucial outer blade regions, this measure reduces suction side flow separation and thus leads to better efficiency and lower vortex noise.
  • Noctua's AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimization) frames feature integrated anti-vibration pads as well as Noctua's proprietary Stepped Inlet Design and Inner Surface Microstructures, both of which further refine the fan's performance/noise efficiency.
  • Noctua's Stepped Inlet Design adds turbulence to the influx in order to facilitate the transition from laminar flow to turbulent flow, which reduces tonal intake noise, improves flow attachment and increases suction capacity.
  • With the tips of the fan blades ploughing thru boundary layer created by Inner Surface Microstructures, flow separation from suction side of the blades is significantly suppressed, which reduced blade passing noise, improved airflow, pressure efficiency.
  • Integrated Anti-Vibration Pads made from extra-soft silicone minimize the transmission of minute vibrations while maintaining full compatibility with all standard mounting systems and fan clips used on heat sinks.
  • Supporting fully automatic PWM speed control, the NF-A9x14 uses Noctua's novel, custom designed NE-FD1 PWM IC that integrates Smooth Commutation Drive (SCD) technology. By providing smoother torque impulses, SCD suppresses PWM switching noises and thus makes the fan quieter at lower speeds.
  • The NF-A9x14 features the further optimized second generation of Noctua's renowned, time-tested SSO bearing. With SSO2, the rear magnet is placed closer to the axis to provide even better stabilization, precision and durability.

You'd better believe it.
David Lauterbach
There are much quieter, better performing fans in the 120mm size than the 92mm.

Great fan, very well made.

Bought this fan to replace the (horrible) stock fan on my BFL Jalapeno 7GH/s Bitcoin miner.
It plugs right in, and is less than half the noise of the stock fan.
My full-load temps climbed from 51c to 52c. WELL worth the extra 1c for the reduction in noise.
Now I can't hear my miner over the normal sounds of my PC, which is liquid cooled, so it's pretty quiet.
The only downside to this fan is the ugly color scheme, but once it's installed you'll never see it again, so.... :)

This fan works perfectly. It's extremely quiet, solidly built, and moves a decent amount of air. It comes with the rubber screws to further dampen the vibrations and noise, but those weren't even necessary. I just used the standard fan screws that also came in the package.

Great for what I needed it for. Low profile fit into my snug case and after I powered it on I had to put my hand near it to make sure it was running, it was that quiet!

Purchased this to go with the Silverstone Tek Argon Series CPU Cooler with 92mm Cooling Fan. I bought the low profile version so I could run two fans (push pull) without interfering with my RAM on an ASUS ROG Maximus Hero motherboard. and of course it has PWM so I can control the speed with the motherboard software.

I have two of those, I used them for 2 purposes:
1. My Gigabyte GT 630' fan became rattling after 15 months of non-gaming usage (lame.....). So I plugged this Noctua 92x14 on the GPU heasink intead the original (bind it with zip ties under the heasink). Plugged it to 4 pin on the motherboard. Awesome I don't hear anything and temps are a bit lower.

2. I use the 2nd unit to replace a mildly noisy Arctic Freezer 11 LP fan (CPU heatsink).

I also tried fans by Noiseblocker but they weren't as quiet as this.

My case/CPU fan was slowly dying and making a racket when it would spin up above an idle. This fan I cannot hear at idle and is bearly above a hum when it spins up. It's been going fast for over a day now because of heavy CPU activity and hasn't shown any signs of poor quality or faulty behavior. Definitely a good buy!
