4.0 out of 5 stars Good finish
Well paced, good development of the characters. No one has those horrific breaks from their previous behavior at the one the perfect moment that sometimes screw up multi-book stories.

3.0 out of 5 stars A decent ending to the Trilogy
I enjoyed this entire trilogy but I have to admit that I was a little disappointing with the way they ended the series. The first two books really build up the story and this book starts off very promising, but by the end it leaves more questions unanswered then answered.

I enjoyed this entire trilogy but I have to admit that I was a little disappointing with the way they ended the series. The first two books really build up the story and this book starts off very promising, but by the end it leaves more questions unanswered then answered.

I know that many of the Salamander novels have some connection to each other, so it's possible that another series may be planned to continue this story.

Although I didn't get what I excepted, this was still a good book, just not the great book I wanted. If you read the first 2, I really recommend picking this one up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unto the anvil, December 6, 2011

This review is from: Nocturne (The Tome of Fire Trilogy) (Mass Market Paperback)
as a chapter the Salamanders are all thrust unto the anvil. The prophecy is in the final stages of its destructive finale.
The Salamanders are fighting for their survival and that of their world, while a renegade is hunting for nothing short of full revenge and a much darker secret.
Who will be the Salamanders' salvation? Who will be its doom?
Old hatred keeps fueling the endless lust for revenge and death, and some will do whatever it takes to achieve them.

Nocturne is the final culmination of the Salamanders as a whole chapter being put unto the anvil and are forced to face hatred in its myriad and boundless forms.
Will they break or prevail? Will the prophecy bring salvation or destruction? What is everyone willing to pay to see their own desires and termination achieve their goals?

Only one way to find out, read it. ;-)
