This of course is a concept CD. It succeeds firstly as good jazz and secondarily as covers of film noir themes. In fact, the music for the most part has more energy than you would attribute to dark subject matter. People who buy this CD will be playing it a lot for the excellent musicianship. This recording ranks among one of the best I have bought this year.The recording quality is quite good and will not dissapoint audio snobs like myself.
