Nod's Way Oracle, October 8, 2008
This review is from: Nod's Way (Paperback)
Length:: 2:07 Mins
No brainer to say, if you're a true fantasy fanatic eventually you will read some Stikmanz like
Prelude to a Change of Mind: The First Book in the Lands of Nod (The Lands of Nod). But his "Nod's Way" has broader appeal than literary.
I think diviners and interpreters of synchronicity will enjoy this work independent of his novels. It classifies random arrangements of symbols in the traditions of I Ching, Tarot and Jungian philosophy. You receive a book of thirty-six oracles to match up with three special dice. The book recommends three tosses per oracle reading. Dice are jet black with nine different white symbols marked in their faces. They have a nice tossing weight. Uniquely, two dice are octahedrons the other a traditional cube. A few times I've personalized the symbols and oracles for direct relevance to an occurrence in my life.
Gamers who read science fiction and fantasy need to order one of the "Hidden Land Of Nod" books. Then get the "Nod's Way" set. Creates an interactive fiction adding depth of meaning as you read the five-novel series. Literary fiction where toss of the dice reveals hidden relationships between yourself and the subtler aspects of Stikmanz's mysterious Land of Nod. I think this set and the five book series will appeal to any science fiction boardgamer who gets off on rolling dice to determine action.
My attached video shows the three dice.

simple, straightforward, and totally convoluted, November 26, 2007
This review is from: Nod's Way (Paperback)
consisting of:
3 dice - two octahedra and one cube
1 copy of Nod's Way
1 blank page book
what we have here is a riddle game disguised as a
pattern recognition system or maybe the reverse.
an oracle just the same. fun too. simple,
straight forward and totally convoluted.
you cast the dice three times denoting
how things seem, what is not apparent,
and possibilities. at which time you
refer to the pronouncements in the oracle.
the thing has immediate traction. if you've been
playing the market too much lately, play this awhile
and chill. the inter-relationships are as complex.
released as a companion to the land of nod series,
this certainly great glue for the series.
the up side is a cool dice game with a
mythical/mystical guide book of semi-riddles.
the down side is that you'll get extras for friends.
that's my story, and i'm sticking to it.
