This book is mostly case studies with transcripts of Tyl's consultations. I have three main problems with the book. For one, Tyl's consultation style rubs me the wrong way. He really dominates the session and talks over the client. His style is quite self-aggrandizing. The first question he often asks is what the person does for a living-not why they are there to see him. In fact, he never asks why the client is there, which I find astonishing. Another problem I have is that simply publishing consultation transcripts is a lazy way to demonstrate how to run an astrological practice, and not at all comprehensive. He doesn't address the real life issues that a consulting astrologer faces, like how to deal with reading for adolescents and children, how to structure readings, how to charge. Third, I just read Tyl's Solar Arc book, which also is heavy on session transcripts and very similar to this book. Tyl publishes book after book of the same type of material.
A much better book for a consulting astrologer is Donna Cunningham's Consulting Astrologer's Guidebook. She deals with real life issues that we consulting astrologers face, like what to charge and money issues in gerneral, how to handle readings for children and teens, how to structure readings. Her book is much more practical and comprehensive in detail.

If you want to know all the secrets of a Master Counselor in Astrology, this is the book for you. Mr. Tyl shares his personal advice of how things should be done; from the first call, to how your office should look like. Plus you can be 'the fly on the wall' throughout several of his counseling sessions.

Before ordering the book I was quite familiar with the content because I got deep insight reading it on Google Books. Noel Tyl writes in a very good style, very accurate in his preaparation and the structure of his books as well as his consultations are built up quite properly. He is the first astrologer I read who is able to show the whole picture not only in analizing but helping the clients also. Since all his book are built upon logic they really make sense therefore easy to understand.
