A Great Book for Young Travelers,
This review is from: The Noisy Airplane Ride (Paperback)
If you're trying to prepare a young child, or one with Learning Disabilities, for their first airplane ride, this is the perfect book. The illustrations are fun yet accurate, and you can take it on the trip to help your children understand what is happening around them (be sure to read it aloud to them several times and interact with them, if you can. I strongly recommend both this book and Airport

Great fun for young readers!,

This review is from: The Noisy Airplane Ride (Paperback)
This is such a great book! The illustrations are bold and colorful, and the text is simple but encourages a lot of play and interaction during the reading of the book. The text has a nice rhyme and rhythm, and actually gives a straight-forward explanation of what are all those sounds you hear on the plane, in only a few words!
My two-year-old loves this book -- he "reads" it to himself, and to me. (He has it memorized.) The noises that are part of the book make this story accessible to very young children. The book really draws a child into participating in reading, rather than just asking us to read it to him. I would recommend this book to anyone with pre-school age children, especially if they are interested in airplanes or machine noises.

fun book for pre-schoolers who love to fly,
By K Mo (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Noisy Airplane Ride (Paperback)
This was a gift from a friend for my little 3 1/2 year-old who LOVES the experience of flying. The book gives a fun and accurate approach to airplane sounds as previously mentioned in another review. The in-cabin pictures are consistent with a commercial airliner and my little one laughs at the "whoosh" sound made by the toilet, that scared him, too (like the little boy in the book). This could be a useful tool for introducing your child to their first airplane ride. A few of the illustrations are too dark to distinguish (meant to be nighttime pictures), but other than that, it is a wonderful book. I've got to like it...it's all I've been reading for a week now.

What to expect,
This review is from: The Noisy Airplane Ride (Paperback)
My grandchild is 8 yrs old, and Autistic, this is an excellent source for preparing a child , of what they will realistically experience, while riding on an airplane for the first time..... Right down to the bump that sounds when the landing gear come down for landing... Very detailed and covers everything from arriving at airport to the seats, safety, flight attendants.... Worth every penny

Very Comprehensive!,

I have flown with my daughter several times, but we're flying again in June and she will be a week away from two years old. Since I'm also taking my infant son (he'll be nine months), I thought I should do as much as I could to prepare her for the plane trip... you know, she's much more inquisitive now, and much less likely to accept "pat" responses for her questions! This book is great! We've already started to read it, and she loves all of the sound effects that it calls for! It talks about all of the noises, and things that happen on the airplane, so by the time we get there, we should (hopefully!) be able to read the book and recognize what's happening. I especially love that at the end it shows the little boy running to his grandmother. Since that's where we're headed, it's helped to make it more real for her!
Great book, definitely recommend for toddlers and above... really a book that grows with the child.

My toddler's favorite book!,

This review is from: The Noisy Airplane Ride (Paperback)
Recently we went on our first airplane trip with our toddler (where he was old enough to understand it). We got this book to help explain some of the noises and activities that normally scare young kids. As a bonus, he loves the book just for itself! The story has illustrations and a story centered around parents with one kid taking a trip. They board the plane, sit down, listen as flaps, engines, and landing gear do their thing. It also talks about flight attendants, and even the lavatory. I thought the illustrations were great. Nice detail to them, and they're realistic enough to match what you see on the airplane. This book is a favorite at home, and a 'must bring' on every flight we take. Well worth buying!

My Son Loves It,

This review is from: The Noisy Airplane Ride (Paperback)
My son loves this book. He has autism and we are going to be flying soon so we got a couple of picture books to try and prep him for the plane.
The illustrations in this one are beautiful. They aren't bright and vibrant but detailed beautifully. Of all the airplane books we got this is his favorite. My only complaint is that since it's called the Noisy Airplane he freaks out about having to get onto one. I know it was meant to warn kids that it will be loud but with his special needs it might have been easier to just deal with it being loud once we got him on the plane.

I got this book to try to introduce our daughter to airplanes and airports before her first flight. I'm not sure that it really did that particular job. But, she loves it now, about 4 months after her first flight. The sounds that you have to make for the various airplane parts are fun, and she loves pointing out the details in the pictures. I should have taken this book on the airplane with us. I'll do that next time we go for a flight.

Cute book to prep kids for an airplane ride,

We've got a very avid little traveler, at 2 years old, she had been on over 75 flights. We would read this book to prep her for the flight and talk about what to expect and what is expected of her (she's almost 3 now). It helps give the kiddos a context to talk about things that will happen in the future, and then when those happen, they're more familiar- like the sounds of the plane, the seatbelt sign, visiting grandma, etc. Cute book!
