A gorgeous ballady album, the kind of thing Nana does so well. All the songs have lyrics by Dolores Duran, who died young. As a young singer she was in there at the start of bossa nova, and wrote three songs with Tom Jobim - they are all here, and Jobim plays piano beautifully on Por Causa de Voce. Duran wrote these lyrics with an eyebrow pencil, all she had to hand at the time.
There are ravishing songs here, especially the first and last. The arrangements are beautiful, with a restrained richness which seems so typically Brazilian. A perfect late night album.
