5.0 out of 5 stars Almost a perfect headset
One of the main advantages of Nokia BH-700 is that the earpiece goes in the ear and not just hangs over it. The headset is very comfortable and can be used without the optional hook; it won't fall out unless you run or jump up and down. It is very small and light. The sound quality is very good. 3.0 out of 5 stars Great sound performance, Poor Fit
I received this headset today, and I am very disappointed. The ear piece is too big, and does not fit in my ear at all. When I do manage to shove/wiggle it around to get it to stay in, it's uncomfortable, and my ear hurts well after taking it out. Apparently this headset was sized for men (I am an average sized woman). The included earloop sucks, and doesn't do much to...

5.0 out of 5 stars Almost a perfect headset, April 6, 2007
This review is from: Nokia BH-700 Bluetooth Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
One of the main advantages of Nokia BH-700 is that the earpiece goes in the ear and not just hangs over it. The headset is very comfortable and can be used without the optional hook; it won't fall out unless you run or jump up and down. It is very small and light. The sound quality is very good. Using the buttons on the headset you can answer, reject, and end calls, adjust volume, mute the microphone, redial the last number, transfer the call between the headset and the handset, and use voice commands. The small LED uses different colors to indicate device status. If you have a newer Nokia phone, you can use its charger with this headset. The battery lasts for days. The headset supports Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, so if your phone also has this capability, you can expect even better talk and standby times.

I've found only two minor issues with this headset, which, however, don't detract any stars from its rating. First, the headset does not beep if the battery gets low during a call; it simply turns off without a warning when it is completely discharged. Second, no buttons need to be pressed on the headset in order to pair it, which means that anyone in the 30' range can pair their devices to your headset, disconnect it from your own phone, and delete your pairing. I doubt anyone will actually experience this, but I think it is a security flaw. Otherwise, this is really one of the best headsets on the market.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good stuff, March 9, 2007

I had the motorola H700 before this and it broke in about six months. This Nokia has a dramatically improved range without breaking up, so I can leave it in my living room and walk around without carrying my cell, or better yet use skype on my couch. The in ear design helps you hear because it cuts the outside noise, however the optional loop is necessary to keep it from slipping out. The lanyard lets you wear it around your neck for easy access. I like the simple styling even though it looks like a thumb drive is grabbing on to your ear for dear life. Overall a great design.

When I do manage to shove/wiggle it around to get it to stay in, it's uncomfortable, and my ear hurts well after taking it out. Apparently this headset was sized for men (I am an average sized woman). The included earloop sucks, and doesn't do much to help with fit either since you cannot "mold" the loop to a custom fit. It's just a rigid plastic hook.

On the plus side, the styling of the headset is great. Lightweight, sleek, the controls are easy to use, and there is no obnoxious blinking blue light at the side of your head. The neck lanyard is a nice touch too. I did make a few calls using the unit, and reception was extremely clear.

Really pleased with this product - after reading ratings and reviews of all the brands, I ended up with the Nokia, same make as my phone, a little more expensive, but I wanted to make sure that it would pair really well.

It is half the weight of most of the bluetooth products and the sound quality is amazing. People on the other end can hear me just fine too. Most of the time I forget I'm wearing it. I drive a lot on my job and live in a state where hands free operation behind the wheel is mandatory. I figured just one traffic ticket fine would pay for it.

One thing could be improved - the on/off switch isn't as easy to operate as it could be, but at least you can't switch it off by accident this way.

2.0 out of 5 stars Dissapointed, October 10, 2007
This review is from: Nokia BH-700 Bluetooth Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
The ear piece is impossible for me to fit into the ear. It's way to big and it hangs outside. I cannot rely on the hook to fix it on my ear. It's way to loose and practically decorative. I think that it's mostly designed for men.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not so great fit, August 19, 2008
This review is from: Nokia BH-700 Bluetooth Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
After a lot of research I bought BH700 as my bluetooth headset. I had high hopes for this NOKIA product because I am big fan of NOKIA Phones. I was disappointed with the fit of the headset, I think it is made for people with big ear canal. The earbud does not fit securly in my small ear (with or without the loop). The bulk box product does not come with extra earbuds (I am not sure if complete box comes with it or not) and it such a bad fit that I had to get another one. It has a great sound quality but nothing out of the world. I bought Jabra BT8040 and it is the best fitting in-ear headset that I have ever seen.

1.0 out of 5 stars returned it..., July 17, 2008
This review is from: Nokia BH-700 Bluetooth Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I returned this a week after I got it. Although the sound quality was good, the ear bud was just too big, and got painful after a while ( I wear it constantly) or fell out a lot. The earloop was useless. I also did not like that the answer/end button was right on the other side of the ear bud, so when I would (inevitably ) go to readjust it, I would accidentally either call or hang up on someone.... I'm shopping now for something better.. too bad, I've always sworn by Nokia.

this thing is great. it could use a bigger power button, but other than that is is just perfect in every way. it has a fairly large in ear knob, which allows it to sit in the well outside the inner ear canal, so it doesn't get waxy or nasty but won't fall out even if the ear loop isn't used. sound for mic and ear is great, connection works perfect with my nokia 6126. the 6126 didn't work correctly with my moto h850, which i didn't like, and it was supposed to not be made to work with the nokia bh800. i guess they are upgrading what i thought was a simple standard in bluetooth. anyways this thing absolute perfection for my phone, get one unless you have a nokia that is supposed to be paired with a bh800 - check the nokia site to see what they recommend for your phone.

This is the best Bluetooth headset I have ever owned; it is easy to set up and use. The voice quality is great but wind causes issues w/ being heard.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nokia or Jabra, December 21, 2007
By
This review is from: Nokia BH-700 Bluetooth Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
1. I decided to switch from Jabra to Nokia why?
2. May07 Purchased JX10; 2 problems; first one the charge; need to charge after one day-talked time around 20 minutes. The dealer changed it. The second one now after 6 months it is not accepted to charge.
3. I understand that the warranty for 2 years.
4. So, I decided to switch to Nokia and gave myself the chance to find out other brands
5. I agree that BH-700 for security pairing is different than I used to.
6. As I am just purchased Nokia two days before so, need to wait one month to give full opinion. But first impression within two days all my calls went smooth without received any comments from other partners
7.I am using its ear hook; it is comfortable
