Best BT Headset I have tried.,
By Chromebook User (Washington, DC United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Nokia BH-800 Bluetooth Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I tried a few BT headsets and it came down to the Nokia BH-800 and the Jabra JX10. Both units have good audio quality. I also liked that both units are small. Thus, you don't look like you are on your way to a Star Trek convention while you are wearing them. While I liked the JX10's design over the BH-800, it had trouble understanding my voice commands. I use Microsoft Voice Command with my XV6700 PocketPC phone. I had to speak to the JX10 very slow and clearly to achieve only a 50% success rate in it understanding my commands the first try and subsequent tries. The BH-800 understands my commands closer to 90% on the first try and 99% on the second try. I was also able to speak to it in a more "natural" fashion. I wonder if the Bluetooth 2.0 specification with EDR makes the difference. Pros: 1. Good audio quality. People can clearly hear me and I can clearly hear them. 2. It's small. It's less "geeky" than some headsets. 3. The neck strap is a nice bonus. The headset stays in place. 4. My Microsoft Voice Command woks very well with the BH-800. Cons: 1. I don't like the ring tone of the headset. I don't know if you can change it. 2. The neck strap could be longer. 3. I preferred the JX10's look and button layout.

Great Little Headset, except....,

I really like the Nokia BH-800. I have a A900 phone from Sprint and with other headsets I frequently lost paring with the headset. I rarely have this problem with the Nokia. My only complaint is the in the ear piece -- it's to big for a normal size ear. I think Nokia had only men in mind when they design the ear piece. Even with the over the ear hook (which is optional) it still not a good fit; however it's a great fit for my boyfriend... but that doesn't help my situation since I got it for me.

I've bought Bluetooth headsets in the past and didn't like them much. I've used friends, and the one I like (Plantronics Voyger 510) was just too big. Hated the last one I bought (Motorola H3) I ended up taking it back the same day. This one is pretty expensive, but sometimes you get what you pay for.pros: volume is great, much louder then the Motorola's I've used size is good, it fits perfect on my ear. looks great pairs quickly with my Motorola Q love the neckstrap supports audio streaming if your phone does. I can hear my mp3 ringtones threw the headset. cons seems to have a bad problem with noice canceling, people always comment on things in the background, like a TV. But it's not extreme if it's not paired, and the phone rings it takes a few seconds to pair back up, but this isn't a headset issue, BlueTooth is like this with all headsets. After about 5 days with it, I love my BH-800, it's going to hard for any company to top this.

Nokia BH-800 Bluetooth Headset,

I have always been very happy with and loyal to Nokia phones. This is my first Nokia Bluetooth and I am quite satisfied with it as well. I have only ever used Motorola Bluetooth headsets before and was very dissatisfied. The clearity, both incoming and transmiting is far superior. The ease of use is great also. My only complaint is the ear attachment, I could not get it to stay on my ear. I solved that problem though with some parts salvaged from my old Motorola HS850.Great Product!! Would get 5 stars if not for the ear attachment.

This is the best bluetooth heaset I have owned. Pairing is quick and simple, voice quality is excellent. The size and fit are amazing. I was truly impressed by how small this headset was, yet it fit inside my ear. If you are worried about it falling out, there is an optional ear loop that comes in the box. The only negative is that outside noise and wind are easily picked up by the sensitive microphone, but that is pretty standard for a lot of bluetooth headsets.

My ears must be different than most others. This thing would not stay in my ear even when using the ear loop. The headset kept losing it's connection to my Treo 700WX and required a soft reboot of the Treo to get it to work again. Every time I talked on it the person on the other end experienced an echo. I was very disapointed as most of the reviews are very positive. To be fair, I can't use the ear bud type stereo headphones either, they just don't fit my ears. Also, other people have been having trouble with other bluetooth headsets with the new Treo 700WX. So, giving it the benifit of the doubt, I gave it a 2, but I was leaning towards a 1.

I have owned three of the most expensive Motorolas at various times. This nokia is my best BT yet. Best sound - the clearest on both ends. Some minor BT failings more BT than Nokia. It is clearly made and presented as a high end product. The metal ear holder is made of hard to bend (for a best fit)stainless. Some reviewer reccommed one go to their local blacksmith - the only minor issue but otherwise just great.

I have had my Nokia BH-800 for more than 8 months now and still use it everyday and wear it in my ear for a good part of the day. I do not use the ear loop as it fits my ear just right, but I would say that I am quite above average on size. The sound is excellent, have never had a problem with hearing people or people hearing me. Most of the other headsets got complaints about the other end being able to hear them. The reception is good, I get a little bit of static when the phone is more than 10 feet away. The range is really good, I once was out in the parking lot about 35-40 feet away and my earpiece rang. I was able to answer it and then quickly walked back to my phone to get rid of the static. Occasionally I have to turn off the blue tooth on my phone (XV6700), turn it on then power on my Nokia headset to get it to sync. A few complaints, I would like to be able to change the ring in the headset from the default Nokia ring, I would love to be able to use a mini USB to charge it, the mute is hard to use, and I personally think it is kind ugly, never used the necklace it comes with. Bottom line, it works really well, you get what you pay for. Just don't lose it as it is VERY small and I once spent 15 minutes looking for it after dropping it in a parking lot.

I can't say enough about this headset. I've gone through 2 other brands to get to it. I had problems with comfort, listening volume and speaking volume with both the other brands. However, both the other brands were considerally less expensive. This Nokia Bluetooth is excellent on all counts mentioned above. The adjustable listening volume actually works and makes a considerable difference in noisy room situations. The speaking volume or ability for someone to hear me was a major concern to me. I've tested this baby, and my listeners report no echoes or difficulty hearing me. I don't have to yell anymore. Lastly, I had major comfort problems with the others mainly in terms of weight of the heatset and/or pressure of the ear loop. My first set was an "over the ear" with a loop set. It was just too heavy for either ear. I had to keep switching it from one ear to the other all day. My second was "in the ear" with no loop. It kept falling out of my ear all day. I wished I could super glue it in. The more I pressed it into my ear , the more irritated my ear became. So again I was switching ears all day. Hey, I achieved 100% comfort with my Nokia, and I use the ear loop for support as well as security reasons. I like the fact that the ear loop is adjustable and supportive to the heatset. Therefore the weight, though fairly light, seems to be distributed and balanced evenly. Basically, I wear this all day and forget that it's even there. Moral: Usually you get what you pay for.

Excellent, but requires ear loop,

Everything about this headset is better than I expected. Quality, ease of use, design, etc. The one complaint I have is that there is no way it stays in place without attaching the included ear loop. It's not a huge drawback, but it would be more convenient and elegant if it could be used without the loop.
