i own a E71x and desperately needed a 2.5 to 3.5 jack since AT&T didn't think it was worth adding in the bundle.i found this particular one and decided to buy it since it had the nokia branding as well as the 3 rings on the jack needed for stereo playback,many people get the 2 rings and realized later its not compatible with their E71x(at least for stereo playback).but rest assured this works great and i hear clearly from both sides of my headphones. the build quality isnt bad either.i think it will last long enough to make up for the $8.50(including shipping) i paid for it!the delivry time wasnt bad either, i ordered it on the 9'th and got it on the 13'th.ENJOY!!!

Just had to chime in here with my frustration with this adapter and my unlocked E71 (gave the product a 5 star rating because it is not its fault it didn't work with my phone). It's bad enough that the E71 has a 2.5mm headphone jack vs. the standard 3.5mm jack found on 99% of the electronic devices in the US, but for some reason, the E71x sold in US by AT&T has a different configuration on the earphone port than the unlocked version of the E71 I bought on Amazon.

If you have the non-AT&T version of this phone, you will need a different adapter --> the AD-50 (has 2 plastic rings) instead of this AD-61 (has 3 plastic rings). I had the same experience as others here getting only one channel to work on the headphones when using this device (and I bought another item at Radio Shack with same results). Of course, you will lose the functionality of the built in microphone that came with the hands-free wired setup, but at least, you will be able to choose from hundreds of earphones and enjoy much better sound than with those junk earphones that came with the phone! The other downside is this huge adapter (AD-50) sticking out of the side of your phone. Why Nokia, Why!!!

Have tried several 2.5 to 3.5 adapters for my E71x. Phone's software doesn't recognize other maker's adapters. This one worked great. Much better price than from AT&T or Nokia.

I have an ATT Nokia 6350 phone. This adapter works great with my normal headphones. I get true stereo output. Not sure how it works as far as a mic is concerned, but for playing music, works like a champ.

I was looking for an adapter that I can use with my Nokia E66 cell phone for regular earphones (3.5 mm plug). If I fully plug it into the cell phone the sound is mono, but if the plug goes almost all the way into the cell phone I get the stereo sound.

So, the adapter doesn't work as described but I had to find a way to make it work.

I've used a couple of stereo headsets, and a couple of pairs of stereo earbuds. This adapter only provides MONO output.

I bought this and found out that it is not compatible with E71. I get mono sound on one side only. The reason I bought this is because other reviewers had said it worked with their E71x phone, but it did not work in my case. I am not sure what's going on here.
Then, I checked the Nokia website and searched for it by its part number "AD-61" The web site provides a list of phones for this adaptor. Neither the E71 or the E71x is on that list. Also, the postage on the envelop is less than a dollar but they charge you more than that here at checkout.

The sound comes out of only one side of the headset. I'm sure they knew this when they sold it. Rip Off

I bought this product so I could use my skullcandy fmj headset with my wireless phone at home. Though the product looks well made, I know know it does not work with that headset and a panasonic wireless phone. Both jacks fit perfectly, and I could hear, but the mic was not picked up at all.

It doesn't work on a lot of phones....And I don't know why. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Kind of disappointing.
