This phone operates on GSM 850/1900 networks and can handle high-speed data connectivity via T-Mobile's EDGE network (which stands for "Enhanced Data Rates for Global Evolution"). This high-speed, mobile data and Internet access technology is fast enough to support a wide range of advanced data services (with average data speeds between 75-135Kbps), including video and music clips, full picture and video messaging, high-speed color Internet access, and e-mail on the go.

Phone Features
The clamshell Nokia 2760 has a blue monochrome screen on its exterior (96 x 68 pixels) that displays current time as well as incoming calls. Flip it open to reveal its large, easily accessible keypad and brightly colorful main LCD (128 x 160 pixels, 65K colors). In addition to an oversized five-way navigation pad, it includes send/end keys and two soft keys. The phonebook can store up to 1000 contact entries in its 11 MB of internal shared memory, and the phone can display the most recent 20 dialed/received/missed calls.

This phone provides Bluetooth version 2.0 wireless connectivity, and includes profiles for communication headset, hands-free car kits, and file transfer. You can connect your laptop (either via Bluetooth or wired USB) and enjoy dial-up networking--surf the Internet, send e-mail, and access files from a server.

The 2760 offers a full range of e-mail, text, and multimedia messaging options. It includes support for IMAP4, POP3, and SMTP e-mail. In addition to SMS text and MMS multimedia messaging, this phone incorporates Nokia Xpress audio messaging, which allows you to personalize messages in a spontaneous and creative way. By using a specially designed menu, an audio message can be recorded and sent with only a few clicks of a button. Xpress audio messages can be sent to all MMS-enabled GSM handsets, and can also be shared with multiple recipients.

The VGA digital camera can capture stills at up to a 640 x 480-pixel resolution, and the camera includes a 4x digital zoom to help you get closer to the action. When I went looking for a simple, inexpensive 2nd cellphone to be called ONLY by family members & very close friends in "emergencies" (because no matter how explicitly or how many times you tell your acquaintances not to give out your personal cell number to others, they always do, rendering you with the hassle of frequent phone calls from individuals with whom you'd rather not converse and the trouble of fiddling with your cell to screen/categorize callers), I checked out this model and found it quite to my liking. For example, the keys on the keypad aren't so small or so supersensitive as to make texting difficult. And, as someone who isn't always sure that I've grabbed everything that I need before I've headed out the door, the fact that this is a relatively heavy (for it's size) phone is a plus, as you always know when it's in your pocket/clipped on your belt. Also, as I soon discovered, the bloody thing is practically bulletproof: I must have dropped it at least 8 or 9 times by now and it's just got a couple of minor scratches to show for it. Furthermore, just about all of the features described above come in handy and are easy to use, basic though they are.

As for the negatives, well, the battery charge doesn't last especially long ('tho it does recharge pretty quickly) and it's rather difficult to open up one-handed, as its surface is a bit on the slippery side and as it doesn't have any notches or grooves on it to facilitate opening it in this manner (which is one of the reasons why I keep dropping it).

All in all, if you're looking for a simple, inexpensive phone, give this one some consideration. (I should, perhaps, mention that I only paid $60 [Cdn] for this phone and that was without having to join a[nother] cell plan/contract i.e. I simply bought the phone itself, and it's this price upon which this review is based.)

I bought it after my on-contract cell phone died due to water damage; this was a cheap replacement at only $70.

Let's put it this way: It's a phone. It makes and receives calls. It will also send text messages.

The signal quality and sound quality when calling are excellent, the 700mAh battery routinely lasts me four or five days. The FM radio did not disappointed me the few times I've used it (it uses headphones as an antenna; I don't carry that around with me). The camera is a truly terrible VGA shooter in fine 2005 style. I've never used their voice SMS messaging and kind-of forgot it exited until I saw it in the Amazon overview.

There are three more good points I feel like I should mention; the screen is transflective which means you can still see the screen (in black and white) in broad daylight; the keys are nice and big; the all-plastic body is extremely abuse-tolerant, I think it's been accidentally exposed to more moisture than my previous phone could take.

On the other hand: This phone is SLOW. Slow to open menus, programs, the camera, slow to answer calls... I get the impression very little care or effort was expended on slapping together this chunk of indestructible plastic. Cases in point: The phone locks itself like a bar phone would. It's got photo editing tools (contrast, crop, add border, add text) to combine with a camera that can't take good pictures. The included calculator also has some advanced functions (arctangents!) but is really really slow.

Ultimately, the largest problems with this phone (as a phone) are the lack of any exterior buttons, anything to make flipping it open easier, and inability to separate multiple contacts per person. You can HAVE multiple numbers associated with a name, but you yourself will have to remember which one is their work phone... Also, it may just be my unit, but the backlights turn themselves on at random even if you don't touch the phone and no one tries calling it. Occasionally I have a blue square shining out of my pocket.

Had this thing a bit over a year the battery has already degraded to hold less then half the original life. The camera is really sucky my kids cheapo toy camera takes better pics than this thing. Unless you are real tight on cash avoid this phone.
